The highly endangered Hawksbill Turtle seasonally nest only in this sanctuary allowing you to see mama turtles lay eggs or hatchlings make their way to sea. Turtle Beach Sanctuary is a brand new addition to Utila completed in Summer of 2019. TB offers casually elegant accommodations on a pristine private beach. The Loggerhead Bungalow is a stand-alone king suite with beautifully appointed custom furnishings, finishes and fixtures. The private balcony has plenty of seating to enjoy both sunrises and sunsets on this spectacular property. In Turtle season watch female turtles nesting and Hawksbill hatchlings make their way across the sand and into the sea. Guest access We will greet you either at the ferry dock or airport and take you to the bungalows. If you pre-rent a vehicle we make sure it is available upon arrival and guide you to Turtle Beach Sanctuary. Each suite will have information available about local sites, activities and the like. There is an on-site watchman and maid service twice per week. Other things to note We do not charge extra for electricity like other places do; however, all guests are required to turn off AC and lights when not in the bungalow, otherwise, additional charges may be applied. During the Summer months of June through August guests can catch both sunrises and sunsets right from the private beach. Turtle season typically begins Mid-June through October. Enjoy an amazing starlit sky most nights, count shooting stars and gaze at the November. This is the perfect place for star gazing. The Milky Way and Big Dipper that appear close enough to touch. If you are a marine life enthusiast the snorkeling and diving allow glimpses of whale sharks the world's biggest fish, dolphin's, manatees, eagle rays and hundreds of other species found in the Caribbean. We recommend bringing water shoes for swimming the beach. We do have strict lighting curphew on the island during turtle season and request that guests follow our minimal lighting requirements at night.
