Beaukiss Studio, peaceful farm house near Austin
** Summer months max of 2 guests. Loft area too hot to sleep in.** Renovated 1930s farm house on 18 acres. Eclectic mixture of modern & antique; painted wood floors, cream plaster walls and comfortable period furnishings. Kitchen has marble counters, wooden walls, gas stove, under-counter fridge, dishwasher. Stylish bathroom with walk-in shower. We do have Wi-fi, via StarLink for the past few months, works well. Let us know if you're bringing your dogs; we have free-roam chickens & barn cats! With views out to the pastures and trees, this is the perfect cozy retreat for sitting back, catching-up on reading, and make some great memories. In the winter the wood-burning stove adds to the charm, and for the summer months we have awesome AC and a garden hose with very cold water. Dogs are welcome, but please if you make day trips away from the studio be sure to take your pups with you. Also, if your dogs tend to chase cats or chickens, please keep them leashed when outside. You'll have the little studio house all to yourselves. We live in a separate home on the property, but we enter our home from the far side of our house, so you won't see much of us unless you need something or we are out in the garden. Feel free to walk the 18 acres and say Hi to the horses, just please be sure to close any gates that you go through of course. Also feel free to pick and cook anything from the veggie gardens and potted herbs, and I can help you collect fresh eggs from our hen house. Our interaction can be as little as greeting you and making sure you have everything you need then discretely disappearing, or we can help set you up for a BBQ/grill out under the trees and share some stories of the area's history. We are often outside in the garden working or doing ranch work, so feel free to come over and say Hi, or simply knock on back door of our house if you need anything and we are not outside. Or send a message via Airbnb, of course! Sometimes our ranch work is a bit noisy (tractor, chainsaw, etc) but usually it is not close by the studio. We are surrounded by hay fields and cattle ranches. It's a perfect place to relax and get away from it all, yet we're close enough to Austin to explore that great city. The smaller towns of Elgin, Taylor, and Coupland offer great antiquing options, good restaurants, a brewery (Texas Beer Company!), and several historic honky-tonks for two-stepping (Coupland Dance Hall and Granger's Cotton Club). You'll need a vehicle, for sure. In addition to the Full-size bed in the bedroom downstairs, two additional beds (a Queen and a Twin mattress, both on floor) are in the loft, which is a very cool and fun space but not much headroom and only a low railing, so not so suitable for kids under 6, nor for super-tall adults. The closest grocery stores and restaurants are about 18 miles away, in Taylor or Elgin. We supply the basics, like coffee, spices, and cooking oils, and all the pots and pans you might need to cook your meals.
