Imagine stepping onto your private deck, greeted by wide valley views of vibrant rice fields and towering coconut trees. Savour a nourishing plant-based breakfast, then make your way down the valley to a hidden waterfall or take a hot soak in your oversized bathtub overlooking the jungle. The Jungle Nook is a secluded cottage nestled against a slope overlooking a lush river valley, allowing you to fully disconnect and enjoy the breathtaking views. You will have a private kitchen, equipped with fridge and freezer which we have stocked with our favourite vegan snacks and drinks. In the bathroom you find a rain shower and a gorgeous handmade copper bath tub - perfect for a self care moment, also big enough for 2 ❤ The deck is made from beautiful antique ironwood and will surely entice you for some yoga, meditation, journalling, writing music or whatever else calls you. We have a wonderful in-house chef who can prepare delicious plant-based dishes on demand, from a scrumptious chile sin carne or sushi platter to a wholesome salad bowl so you won't even have to leave your Nook if you don't want to. Throughout your stay, we will be ready to assist you to help make your time with us unforgettable. Guest access The entire Jungle Nook is yours alone, with private kitchen, bathroom and spacious deck. Other things to note INSECTS and other CREATURES At the Jungle Nook, we live alongside the vibrant creatures that have called this place home long before we arrived. You'll spot beautiful butterflies fluttering through the air, but you'll also come across a whole host of other creatures—some familiar, some a bit more unusual—all with their own unique colors and shapes and sounds. We believe in living in harmony with the rest of nature and want to offer our guests an authentic experience of this rich, untamed ecosystem. Staying with us comes with its own soundtrack. Guests should be aware that, particularly when the weather is warm, we get bursts of loud 'screeching' from our native cicadas. They are small (about the size of a thumb), but their volume is impressive. It’s a unique sound of the wilderness that guests should be prepared for. Geckos of various sizes make their homes with us, and though harmless, they do add their distinctive calls at night. In return, they’re incredibly helpful, keeping our space clear of pests - in Balinese culture they're considered bringers of good energy! Our garden is home to playful squirrels, colourful birds, and curious lizards. At sunset, you might see bats flying around, and the jungle fills with a chorus of sounds, from croaking frogs to chirping crickets. As night falls, you might be lucky enough to see fireflies glowing over the rice paddies. The jungle is a place where nature shows up in every possible form. While we deeply appreciate the beauty and balance of this wild environment, we understand that the intensity of nature here may be overwhelming for some. *** Please take a moment to consider whether this unique, immersive experience aligns with what you're seeking during your stay. *** FULLY PLANT-BASED PROPERTY The Jungle Nook is 100% plant-based, from the delicious meals cooked by our chef Made to the fragrant soaps and scented candles. Most of our guests are non-vegan and love the experience :) You are welcome to cook your own meals as well and we can help with shopping. We kindly ask not to bring any animal products to the cottage. PARKING If you come with your own car, please note we have only one (!) parking spot available at the villa.
