If you want to make the most of Almería before or after your stay, you can leave your luggage at LockersAlmería (Calle San Francisco de Asís, 19). They have electronic lockers starting at €5 so you can visit the city without having to carry anything. 📍 Context and location The Garrofa Viaduct crosses the Garrofa Ravine over the A-7 highway, very close to Aguadulce and the hamlet of El Palmer. It is part of the natural environment and offers close access to impressive coastal cliffs Outdoor 🧗🏼 activities Sport climbing: just below the viaduct there is a climbing area known as Sector Viaducto, with more than 50 routes of different levels (up to 7a+), including areas such as Placa Pilar, Chorrerilla Cañarete and Chorrera Rosa. Hiking and viewpoints: the Camino Viejo de Aguadulce passes through this area, ascending old zigzag sections to the Torre de la Garrofa, from where you get a panoramic view of the cove, the Cañarete, the Bay of Almería and the Cabo de Gata. 🌊 Nature & Beach La Garrofa Beach: a rocky cove about 150 m long between cliffs, with crystal clear water and an isolated environment. From the campsite of the same name, it is easily accessible. Cala del Palmer: next village with a gravel beach and views of the coast, very close to the viaduct area. 🏛️ Coast and heritage Archaeological site of La Ribera de la Algaida (Turaniana): cultural reserve declared a Site of Cultural Interest. It is located between Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar, with remains from the Bronze Age to the Muslim era. Castillo de Santa Ana: Renaissance fortress in nearby Roquetas de Mar, transformed into an exhibition and cultural events center. Aguadulce Marina: a leisure area by the sea, with bars, restaurants, and a lively promenade. 🚶♂️ Directions and transportation From Aguadulce to Mirador Torre de la Garrofa (~6 km): taxi, local bus and then walk (~1 h 20) or full journey by bus and on foot (~31 min) Aguadulce is connected by several bus lines to Almería and coastal towns via the A-7 and the N-340a El Cañarete.
