The property is only 15 minutes away from Otavalo’s indigenous market, Ecuador’s most visited place, and about 90 mins. from Quito’s airport. The space OVERVIEW: rustic yet modern architecture, with lots of custom wood cabinets, tile and bamboo floors, and open-beam vaulted ceilings throughout. The house has 1,400 sq.ft. (130m2) of interior space on a 5,200 sq.ft. (483m2) lot. The gardens throughout the development and around the house are beautifully manicured by 2 resident gardeners. A Ring doorbell camera can alert you and show you video when someone comes to the front door. FRONT PORCH / READING ROOM: this glass-enclosed area of approximately 200sq.ft. is one of the coziest places in the house, from where you will enjoy the view of the Imbabura (inactive) volcano and the manicured gardens while you enjoy your coffee in the morning, or at night while enjoying 1 of the 2 wood-burning fireplaces in the house from the 2 recliners while you read. PRIMARY BEDROOM & EN-SUITE BATHROOM: King bed with patio views through the oversized window, R/C ceiling fan, smart TV with 1700+ local, cable and premium channels from Ecuador, USA and all over the world, walk-in closet with lots of storage space, and a large bathroom with dual sinks and a separate room with the toilet and a soaking tub/shower combo. The glass-enclosed bath tub features a wooden tray where you can rest your glass of wine and book/tablet while you soak in. 2ND BEDROOM: queen size bed with plenty of closet and storage room. Both bedrooms have touch nightlamps with USB-A/C charging and workspaces for your laptop/tablet. DINING ROOM: this space features a dining table for 6, a dimming chandelier, and a bar with all types of glasses and plenty of room for your favorite beverages. The sliding doors welcome you into the private patio where you can expand your dining experience outdoors enjoy the fresh air, blue skies and mountain views. KITCHEN: granite countertops, ambiance lighting, stainless steel fridge and gas stove with oven, microwave, large toaster oven, and every pot, pan, plate and utensil you will need during your stay. This room also includes a laundry closet where you’ll find the washer and dryer (instructions in the House Manual). GUEST BATH: full bath with walk-in shower. One of the cabinets in this room houses a high-capacity electric power generator and rechargeable lights in case of blackouts. BACK PATIO: 1,000 sq.ft. of tiled private patio, to enjoy outdoor meals with a view of the volcano while enjoying the tranquility, fresh air, flowers and birds. At night, string lights hung on top of the main table provide a wonderful ambiance at your dinner parties. The large rectangular table seats 12 guests, and the circular one 4 more. A gas BBQ grill and plenty of countertop for prepping will make your outdoor dining super easy. PARKING: There is one (1) assigned parking spot for this house, and several for visitors. Other things to note PETS: the non-refundable pet fee is $150, size and breed restrictions may apply to comply with HOA regulations, please inquire with us before booking. HOUSE CLEANING: We require the house to be cleaned at least once every 2 weeks, scheduled at your convenience. Our cleaner typically charges $25 for 5 hours and you can pay her directly. We do this to ensure the appropriate maintenance of our property, furnishings, etc. by someone we trust and knows the house and what needs to be done.
