Historical Guesthouse in downtown Whitehorse was built in 1907 for the real Sam McGee! It's one of the last remaining hand-hewn log houses from turn-of-the-century Whitehorse. Easily walk to shops, restaurants, pubs, museums, and the Yukon River! The Green Room (3 people) is one of two upstairs bedrooms and has a queen bed and a single bed. No ensuite. Your private washroom is downstairs on the Main Floor. **Option to also book the Rose Room (1 queen) across the hall (See separate listing). The space The Historical Guesthouse is a beautiful turn-of-the-century hand-hewn log house located in a quiet downtown neighbourhood only 2 blocks from Main Street. The Green Room is upstairs on the top floor and has a queen bed and a single bed (3 people max). It does not have an ensuite washroom. That luxury wasn't a thing 100 years ago! It has it's own dedicated full washroom downstairs on the Main Floor off the kitchen. The Main Floor, with original hardwood floors, has a living room with a comfy couch and chairs, cable TV, and a wood stove for those chilly winter nights. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals. The kitchen table seats 6 adults comfortably. The small office off the living room has a desk and a landline for free local calls. There is free wifi throughout the house and outside in the yard. In the summer it's filled with flowers and there's a covered gazebo and a BBQ. It's an oasis in the heart of downtown! Guest access The main floor amenities are shared by the guests occupying the 2 upstairs bedrooms (Green Room - max 3, and Rose Room - max 2.) Access the house through the main front door with keyless entry. There is free parking either in front of the house or on the side. We live next door just across the yard and we will come over and greet you when you arrive. During your stay We live in the green log house across the yard just behind the Guesthouse. We are always available to meet and greet when you arrive and at anytime you have inquiries or want dining recommendations or anything during your stay. In the summer months we spend a lot of our time outside in the yard so feel free to come on out with a beverage and socialize with us! You can also give us a call if you need help with anything and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Other things to note Pam and Bernie are both musicians and can tell you all about what's going on in town, where there's live music, or a jam session, or where to go to sample beverages from local Yukon breweries.
