The hostel is famous for our unique 3-story pentagonal structure that has often been compared to a lighthouse – a true architectural gem in Montañita! *in the main building …We have 2 private rooms with capacity for 4 pax per room, each room is furnished with two (2) bunk beds and 1 double bed, each room with a private ensuite bathroom and provide flexible sleeping options for guests and also features a private balcony that invites the gentle sea breezes & the sounds of crashing waves to lull you to sleep at night. IMPORTANT INFO: 1) since 2018 we have 2 rooms in our backyard so consider those rooms could be assigned to you in case the other rooms are booked. Room has private bathroom some of them are Ensuite other are non ensuite . We don’t offer full ocean view from the rooms but from the communal rooftop we still have a good one as the profile picture :) 2) We offer ONLY ONE ROOM BUT IF IT IS NECESSARY A SECOND ROOM, we will provide it if the amount of people is over 4-6 pax, depending of each case Our charming dorm rooms are true havens for rest & relaxation. Each dormitory is equipped with a ceiling fan for temperature control, a mosquito net, and a safe deposit box (complete with an electrical outlet INSIDE) for locking up personal items and securely charging your electronics. The third floor balcony boasts iconic views of the Pacific Ocean & endless moments of 'tranquillo' from the cozy hammocks hung along the hardwood terrace. This is a perfect place to sip a café con leche & scope out the morning waves or enjoy a cold beer while watching the sun disappear into the horizon. This is the perfect spot for mingling with fellow guests & exchanging stories about adventurous travels. The gated entry leads guests into a private yard featuring manicured landscaping, lush green grass, and vibrant gardens. The walk way wraps around to the backyard sanctuary where patrons can relax in hammocks, enjoy staff organized BBQs, escape the sun beneath the canopy tent, or enjoy a lovely breakfast before starting your day of sight-seeing. Guests are welcomed at reception by friendly multilingual staff who are eager to help get you settled into your accommodations. The entry way of the hostel flows into a spacious common area featuring a fully equipped kitchen complete with a fridge, a stove top, blender, and a toaster - ideal for cooking budget-friendly meals for yourself or to share with friends. The adjoining living room offers guests a relaxed space furnished with comfortable seating and a book exchange with a diverse reading selection. This is a great nook for curling up with a book or kicking-up your feet & watching a flick. Esperanto exudes a chill "beach life" vibe characterized by the unique collection of décor featured throughout the hostel. Hand-painted surf boards, scenic ocean artwork, and trinkets from global travels adorn the walls to create an eclectic style unique to Esperanto. There are endless adventures available for guests visiting Montañita regardless of the time of year. There is truly something for everyone in Montañita! Guest access Guests will have access to the communal kitchen and dining area. Plates, silverware, pots and pans are available to prepare meals at the hostel. The kitchen is open for cooking from 7AM – 10 pm Guests have access to the rooftop balcony and the available seating (hammocks & lawn chairs) and are welcomed to enjoy the space until 10 pm Guests are welcome to enjoy the backyard & garden at any time until midnight. This includes the canopy tent, tables & chairs, bbq, etc. The private yard features an outdoor shower situated on the side of the hostel for guests to rinse off after a visit to the beach or surfing the waves. On street parking is available to guests. Hostel Esperanto is located in a safe quiet neighbor so there are plenty of secure parking options if there are multiple cars with a group. A security guard is also on duty at night workng for other places but you could arrange something with them Wifi internet is available throughout the hostel for guests to use. As local drinking water is not suitable for consumption but we offer FREE filtered water Other things to note (1) High season is Ecuador is December-May. This is to avoid misunderstandings about room availability for both the hostel management and the guests. Not paying in advance could result in: -Selling the room to another guest -Assuming that the current guest will stay for an additional night when that may not be the case. Our backyard is nice to hang out =) and we understand Montanita sometimes offer a lot crazy party, at the same time the idea in our hostel is the people find a place where everybody can rest, not all people wants are so party lovers ;) , the party is in the downtown after 12 am Friday and Saturday when you come back our hostel after the national curfew we expect you arrive to rest and respect the people who are already resting =) SAFETY & SECURITY •Hostel has a strict “NO DRUGS” policy on the property. Any and all drugs are strictly prohibited in and around the property, including the hostel guest rooms and the communal social areas such as the rooftop terrace, the backyard garden, etc. Guests who chose to disregard this policy surrender their right to remain at the hostel and will be asked to leave. •Moderate alcohol consumption is only allowed in the communal social areas, the rooftop terrace, and the backyard garden. If guests abuse this privilege, the hostel’s staff reserves the right to limit or deny access to any of these areas as needed. •No explosives, detonators, chemical substances or any other materials that may cause harm to guests or damage the property are allowed on the premise. If found on the property, they will be confiscated immediately. •For security purposes, anyone who is NOT a registered guest at Esperanto is prohibited from entering any shared or private guest room. •Please turn-off all lights in the bedroom, bathroom, and on the balcony when leaving your room. •Be sure to securely lock-up your room when leaving. Esperanto is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or forgotten property so please secure the windows and lock your door to protect your belongings. •Guests are not allowed to take any property for the hostel to the beach. This especially includes towels. If guests are in need of a beach towel, one can be purchased in the city center. •It is absolutely prohibited smoke, light candles, or any flammable material inside the hostel in order to prevent potential fire hazards. Smoking is permitted outside on the rooftop terrace or in the backyard. •Noise pollution. We ask that guests respect one another by keeping noise to a minimum by keeping the volume low when using any portable radios or MP3 speakers with external audio. •NO PETS ALLOWED. ADDITIONAL CHARGES •Lost keys will incur a $10 USD fee. If you are worried about losing your room key please leave it at the reception desk on your way out. •Guests are responsible for any and all damages they cause to Esperanto property and will be charged accordingly.
