The Animal-Friendly Dragon's Nest

Here you will find a quiet place, in the middle of the South Harz. Everyone is welcome here, whether young, old, with or without a dog, cat or kite. Schwenda is an ideal starting point for a unique journey of discovery in the Harz Mountains. Whether for hiking, experiencing culture or exploring the numerous sights of the surrounding area. We offer a small, separate apartment to feel good, with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The dragon's nest is looking forward to seeing you! The space The apartment is located in an annex and was lovingly renovated by us in the first half of 2024. It has a large lounge, which is divided into a kitchen/dining area and a sleeping area. There is also a bathroom in which a very spacious shower cabin with rain shower can be found. The toilet with sink and mirror is separated in a second room, so that several people do not step on each other's feet during morning hygiene. In the small entrance hall there is enough space to hang up jackets and shoes. Guest access The whole area of the closed apartment is available for use. This is accessible day and night without hindrance via the courtyard entrance. Other things to note The dragon's nest also includes a small sauna, which can be used on request. Here, "small" is to be taken literally, since the sauna was built by the former owners for 2 people. Accordingly, it is tight inside; others may call it cozy. We therefore recommend using the sauna only in pairs or a maximum of three people. But it also gets warm quickly and pleasantly. If you are interested, please let us know in advance so that we can make the necessary preparations. For the use of the sauna, we charge a one-time small energy/cleaning fee of €10, which can be paid directly on site to the money box provided. We value fairness Our prices are always the same, whether in season or out of season. We do not believe in the practice of increasing prices for the same accommodation just because demand is greater. This is common, but also against our conviction. Only increased service or more comfort justify higher prices. Our main concern is to offer you a good time, to open the Harz to new visitors and not to make a big deal out of it. Therefore, bed linen and towels are of course also included in the price, as well as an optional extra bed.
