Storybook Cottage is quiet & cozy. An ideal peaceful vacation retreat inviting you to sip coffee, tea or wine & relax to the sounds of the waves. Views of the ocean can be seen from the living room, dining room, primary bedroom, kitchen & all 3 front patio areas. Sorry, no smoking or parties allowed. The space Storybook Cottage is beautifully designed in a pleasant seaside Storybook Cottage theme. It has it all: a fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, extra linens, a fully fenced yard, and is a short walk downhill to downtown Cambria or to Moonstone Beach. This 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom home is one level, but you will need to take multiple stairs up to get inside. House Rules state that we do not allow parties or smoking anywhere on the property, including e-cigarettes. We have a security camera pointing at the driveway and the parking area. Enjoy complimentary beverage and snacks at check-in. In addition, you will find locally roasted coffee beans, a coffee bean grinder, milk alternatives, cow's milk, tea bags and local honey - all waiting your arrival. Views of the ocean can be seen from the living room, dining room, primary bedroom, kitchen and all three of the front patio areas. You are in for a treat, open the windows and you will feel the ocean breeze in your face and hear the waves. Storybook Cottage is the ideal place to relax and make a good meal while looking out onto the ocean and listening to the waves. Cambria is a place for deep sleep, rejuvenation, discovery and adventure. Nature is at your doorstep everywhere you look, but especially here with towering pine trees and the sounds of birds and ocean waves. It is just a few blocks above Moonstone beach, and just minutes by car from numerous hiking trails in San Simeon, Ragged Point, Big Sur, and all along the Pacific Ocean. Don't forget that a tour at Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seal viewing are especially interesting. Look for the Hearst zebras just before the castle entrance. It's all about comfort & proximity to town, beach, hiking & more. Hardwood floors, carpet, tile, new dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, full-size washer & dryer, extra linens, eat-in dining table, Wi-Fi & Smart TV, dedicated parking space with parking area security camera & fenced patios around the entire house and yard. Pet friendly under 40lbs, If accepted, dogs will have easy access (through the two bedrooms' exterior doors) to a double-gated dog run where they can do their business as they please without escaping. For those who need to get their daily steps in, a 15 minute scenic, safe, neighborhood walk (mostly downhill), will take you to downtown Cambria where you will find charming family owned and operated shops, art galleries, a nice variety of restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. By car you will be there in 3 minutes! We love our neighborhood coffee shops; Cambria Coffee is walkable and a decent hike. You will be there in 15 minutes on foot (3 minutes by car) but it will take 20-25 minutes and moderate effort to walk back up the hill. Or try our favorite locals hangout: Lilly's. They have a gorgeous outdoor, covered patio and delicious breakfast, salads, sandwiches or nice variety of in-house, fresh-baked goods. For late afternoon treats try Lily's all new wine and nibbles happy hour (only Friday and Saturday during the summer). If you are here on a Friday afternoon, check out yummy homemade soup, hot corn-on-the-cob, fresh baked bread, veggies, fruits, backyard grown eggs, local honey, BBQ food and more at our Farmer's Market! It runs from 2:30pm - 5:30pm (Every Friday). Just few blocks from from downtown, you will find Moonstone Beach where a quintessential boardwalk meanders alongside the ocean and the beach. About another 1/2 mile in a southwesterly direction you will pass by Shamel Park where you will find a dog-friendly beach, a large grassy area and picnic tables and public restrooms. Keep going through the neighborhood and you will find our not-to-be-missed Fiscalini Ranch with extraordinary ocean views, wildlife viewing and easy, well maintained public trails. This too has a meandering, easy walk alongside the cliffs and ocean (no beach). Storybook Cottage's easy access to the freeway makes it an ideal location for those who love city life but enjoy escaping to nature. Cambria has a quaint, robust downtown with lots of cute shops & restaurants. It is an artists village with a mild Mediterranean climate. For the most spectacular cycling or driving tour, nearby Highway One will take you to Hearst Castle, Elephant Seals, Ragged Point, Big Sur and beyond. Guest access No need to pick up and drop off keys at a downtown office! Now you will go straight to the newly named "Storybook Cottage" and enter using our new Keyless, Coded, Keypad (see photos).
