The Old Schoolhouse Carrickfinn, West Donegal.

The Old Schoolhouse in the heart of the beautiful Carrickfinn peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way, is surrounded by amazing scenery and minutes away from golden sandy beaches. While maintaining the character of the original national school built in 1905, the Old Schoolhouse provides quality self catering accommodation with all the luxuries of modern day living. Excellent base to tour Donegal. Annagry village (5km away) with shops, hotels, pubs, pharmacy etc. The space The Old Schoolhouse has been welcoming self catering visitors since 1997 and in 2021 was awarded a "Quality Assurance Certificate" from the Irish Self Catering Federation. The tastefully furnished living room in the Old Schoolhouse with the original fire surround, school desk and copies from roll books, had been the classroom children from the locality attended until 1962. The school then closed and the children were sent to school in Annagry. The overhead mezzanine has its own little library and is the ideal place to relax with a good book. The dining area, with seating for 6 + high chair is spacious and bright. The kitchen and utility room are fitted with all modern appliances. The house sleeps 6 + 1 child. It has 3 bedrooms. 2 are ensuite, 2 on the ground floor, one upstairs. The bathroom is on the ground floor. Cot, travel cot, high chair and stair gate available. There is a large deck with outdoor furniture to the rear of the building. Large garden and ample parking. WiFi is available throughout the house . Sorry, a dog is not allowed. Guest access Guests have access to entire house and surrounds. Other things to note Turf is provided for evening fires. Oil central heating is extra, charged as per usage. We live nearby and will provide any help needed to make our visitors stay most enjoyable.
