Wichabai Ranch - cattle ranch and adventure lodge

A beautiful family-run working ranch, three hours south of Lethem, in the South Rupununi savannahs of Guyana. Stay with us and join in daily ranch activities, birdwatching, canoeing, fishing, swimming or hiking. This is the perfect home from which to explore south Guyana. The space We are a family-owned old fashioned working cattle ranch set amid hundreds of miles of wild savannah. On the homestead is a lake (perfect for swimming), an airstrip, paddocks and a corral for the cattle, a vegetable garden, small farm and orchards. We are alongside the Rupununi River - wonderful for swimming, canoeing and boating adventures. Our hand-built house is made of local wood, on stilts with wide verandahs to make the most of the breeze and the wonderful views over savannah and mountains. Guests can stay with us, taking meals on the spacious verandah, take part in the daily ranch activities (learn the work of a cowboy!), visit local villages, take walks, or go birdwatching, canoeing, horse riding or for drives looking for wildlife. Guest access You will be able to stay in one of the two guest bedrooms, or hire out the whole house (three bedrooms). Either way, we will provide you with all your meals, which are made from the ranch produce. During your stay We will be hosting you: join us for meals, drinks and activities around the ranch and beyond. If you would like to hire the entire property, this could also be organised. Other things to note We can also host you for longer trips along the river or into the Kanuku Mountains. There is an additional charge for some activities and meals.
