Cosy lakeview cabin 45 minutes from Reykjavik

A lakeside cabin at the foot of Medalfell mountain with direct access to the lake. A peaceful place with a beautiful lakeview where you can relax to the gentle sounds of the water. On the terrace is a barrel sauna with a beautiful view over the lake. The surrounding area is full of nature and a good starting point for little hikes. Good location for day trips to Snæfellsnes and the Golden Circle. During the winter time is a good chance of seeing the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis). The space The cabin comes with a garden and a terrace with a a barrel sauna with a beautiful view over Lake Medalfellsvatn. It includes a private bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, two TV’s and free wifi. There is no owen to bake but there is a barbeque and a hob. Refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and all utensils to eat and drink. Nespresso coffee machine (we have a few capsules for your stay but feel free to bring your own). Towels and bedlinen provided. No extra fee. The cabin (37 fm2) is perfect for couples, singles, business travellers, families or groups of 2-4 people travelling together. There is another cabin on the property, a cute old one that is not in use but is under reconstruction when no one is staying in the main cabin. Guest access Check yourself in with the lockbox Other things to note Make sure you go to the grocery store before arriving at the cabin. The closest grocery stores are located in Mosfellsbær. Their name is Bónus and Krónan. Basic groceries, f.ex. milk, bread, egg, cheese and coffee, can be bought in Kaffi Kjos, 600 meters from the cabin. It’s also a restaurant offering hamburgers, sandwiches and other refreshments. Note that opening hours can vary. During the summer time it is open every day from 11:00 until 20:00.
