"The Cave" - sunny art home in woods near downtown
Description
Walk behind the house to enter the Retreat trails and out front to walk to downtown Brattleboro. You're around the corner from the West River and a short drive to Mount Snow and Stratton Mt. Inside is warm, peaceful, and light-filled. Your private areas include a bathroom with great water pressure in your shower and a bathtub, your private bedroom with latex, tempurpedic queen-sized bed, and an office. Enjoy shared areas: kitchen, living room, deck, laundry, and mud rooms. NO PETS please. The space Upstairs, through the living room, beyond the door with the Tree of Life on it, into the hall, you will find your private furnished bedroom, bathroom, and office space. The fairly large dark and quiet bedroom hosts a queen-sized tempurpedic-latex mattress with a thick wool mattress cover under a grounding "Earthing" fitted sheet. Over you will be layers of comfort: a cozy flannel sheet, a gorgeous handmade thin wool quilt, a heavier wool blanket and finally, a down comforter. There is an empty closet with hangers for your clothes and shelves (housing extra blankets and pillows) and an empty desk available for your use. The south facing sunny office houses a large desk with a standing desk converter, a comfy couch, a sewing machine, and a closet. The north facing bathroom looks out into the Retreat woods and has a large bathtub-shower. There's empty space available in the medicine cabinet above the sink and cabinet next to the door, which houses a host of western and homeopathic first aid supplies . The water pressure is great and having forced hot water means you can enjoy a hot bath or shower anytime of day :). Shared spaces include the upstairs fully stocked kitchen, living room, and deck, and the downstairs laundry room - with washing machine. There's a clothesline on the deck upstairs and a drying rack (housed behind the tree-of-life door). Downstairs, off the laundry room, there is another private room and en suite bathroom that may be used by another guest, and a 2nd egress emergency door leading to an apartment where my tenant lives. They have a private entrance into their apartment in the back of the house. There are about 70 plants upstairs to water ~once/week! Someone will water the plant (unless you want to... Let me know if you would like to do that while you're here!). There are notes on the kitchen fridge and a white notebook in your bedroom that hopefully will answer your questions. Please don't hesitate to ask me (Ami Ji) anything via Whats App text. Guest access You will use the top lock box to find your keys. It is to the right of the slider door (going into the mudroom). You'll enter the house through the slider (or, if it's locked from inside, use the Garden Door on the other side of the mudroom). Inside the mudroom, there are 3 doors: (1) the Garden door; (2) the door on the right of the slider, going upstairs to your private area and the shared kitchen/living room/balcony; and (3) the upstairs door (with the Tree of Life on it) that goes into your private area (hall, office, bedroom, bathroom). Your entrance to the laundry room/washing machine is at the bottom of the stairs (going upstairs). Other things to note There are two lock boxes to the right of the slider (into the mudroom). Yours is the top lock box. Parking is behind the house. Tenant's space is closest to the glittery fairy above their entry door. Your parking space is next to that, on the woods side. (The guest/s staying in "The Womb" have a parking space straight back into the woods, tucked to the left). If everyone parks well, there's room for all to get in and out!
