Maes yr Afon overlooks the Teifi Estuary in St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire. 1.5 miles to Poppit beach and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Great village amenities. (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom) The space Maes yr Afon is a charming character cottage tucked in the hillside above St.Dogmaels, overlooking the Teifi Estuary and less than 1.5 miles from the beach and the coast path. This cosy and comfortable terraced cottage is ideal for romantic getaways by the stunning coast of Cardigan Bay, perfectly situated for walking and near to the broad expanse of dog-friendly Poppit Sands. With its pretty white stone walls, log burner, and traditional box bed, Maes yr Afon makes a lovely winter hideaway, too. St. Dogmaels has a magnificent ruined abbey, a working water mill, a village shop, a Post Office, an excellent Fish and Chip shop, and three pubs, one only a 5-minute walk from the cottage. The Coach House Visitor Centre also incorporates a museum, gallery, and cafe, where you can learn about the area and enjoy some local food. Maes yr Afon is just a mile from the market town of Cardigan, with its theatre, cinema, pubs, supermarkets, and individual shops. You can visit the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran Castle or Cardigan Golf Club, or try some watersports with one of the local operators. The local bus service helps you explore the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and the cottage also sits at the end of the Ceredigion Coast Path and on the edge of the Pembrokeshire National Park. Small enclosed gravel area at the back with a circular table and 2 chairs.
