Half-Moon Dome at Our Farm
The Dome is over 200 sqft (16 ft across) with an 8ft tall ceiling at the middle. The Dome is equipped with a zipper door and has a canvas cover with windows and screens and features a large bay window that allows views of Little North Mountain and a full view of the farm. There is a solar exhaust fan and wooden floors as well as a queen bed with linens and some causal seating. There is no electricity or running water and no WIFI. We do provide solar-powered and battery-powered lights. The space The Dome is located in a large grassy area with ample space. You can pitch additional tents (not provided) near the dome for no additional cost. There is easy road access and on-site parking. You are welcome to explore the farm along the mowed paths. Please be aware that we do have cattle on the farm, so do not open any gates and stay clear of the fences as they may well be electrified. Outside, there is a fire pit and seating area as well as a grill and a dining area. Some firewood is provided and there is additional firewood available for purchase on-site. Lastly, we have a nice bathroom with a compost toilet but no running water and no shower. We are in the process of adding a full bathroom with shower near-by, but it will likely be 2025 before that project is finished. Disclaimer: If it has rained a lot in the past few days the area will be muddy, please plan accordingly! Guest access The farm is over 200 acres of wooded mountain land and grassy pastures with some small creeks and springs. Our goal is to create experiences, products, and a destination for folks to learn more about agriculture in the Valley and to instill a connection to the land. This is our take on diversifying the family farm and creating a modern agritourism destination. Our Farm currently has grass-fed beef cattle and unique lodging options, like the Dome. We also have a small garden and some hops. When visiting Our Farm, please ask about how to purchase our farm-raised beef and seasonal vegetables for your dinner. Other things to note Our Farm is within 20-30 minutes of Winchester, Woodstock, and Front Royal in Strasburg, VA. The northern Shenandoah Valley has a lot to offer. There is a binder in the Dome with information on local attractions but please don't hesitate to ask us for more ideas! The dome does not have access or heat so please be prepared for the weather. In the summer we have a battery operated fan available and in the winter we are happy to provide extra blankets. No running water, please plan accordingly.
