Southdown Villa

Welcome to our Villa in the vines just 5 minutes drive from Martinborough. We recently completed development of the Villa capturing spectacular views in all directions and creating a stylish space that provides rest, relaxation, and wonderful alfresco dining. The Villa is comprised of two parts - a three bedroom main house, and a separate two bedroom cottage. While we live in the Cottage, we make available to guests our three bedroom House, along with access to all exterior Villa amenities. The space The House is beautifully designed with floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors in all rooms running the length of the House, and in the large kitchen, dinning and living area, on both sides of the House stepping out to massive raised decks with outdoor furniture and glorious views. It is furnished with high-end appliances and finished with comfort and style. It's a great place to relax and soak in the surrounding vistas along with the morning, afternoon and evening sun - from sunrise to sunset. If you're lucky, you might also be entertained by a pair of inquisitive Tiwaiwaka (Fantail) that have also taken up residence somewhere in our Villa. The House comprises three bedrooms. The master bedroom is located at the northern end, has a king bed with floor to ceiling sliding doors opening out to the main deck next to the pool. It also has a master ensuite bathroom. The second and third bedrooms are king and queen respectively, also with floor to ceiling sliding doors opening out to another deck next to the west terrace. All bedrooms have ample built-in wardrobe space and are stylishly finished. The kitchen, living and dinning area are combined with the floor to ceiling sliding doors opening on both sides and opening the house completely to the outdoors, the raised decks, the pool and of course the vines. The lounge contains two large sofas and a coffee table, all facing a cosy modern gas fire, and a 65" Smart TV with separate Bose sound-bar and sub-woofer. The kitchen is equipped with Fisher & Paykel appliances including gas top, oven, full size fridge and freezer, and two draw dishwashers. There is also a nespresso coffee machine. A separate laundry also contains Fisher & Paykel washing machine and dryer. The Villa stands between two terraces, the east and west, which we gravitate to depending on the prevailing wind, if there is one. Both terraces have BBQs and dinning tables, and places to chill and relax and enjoy food and wine along with the views. The Villa has a cedar hot-tub which sits four comfortably, as well as a heated swimming pool which we use in the warmer months, and sometimes in winter for a cold plunge while using the hot tub. There is ample parking with the Cottage enjoying three dedicated carparks immediately adjacent to the Cottage deck for easy, quick, and private access. Guest access Guests are welcome, without invitation, anywhere in the Villa, except for the Cottage. Guests are also free to walk within the vines (we own rows 54 to 109) and to walk the vineyard roads either side of Vineyard Lane.
