You'll feel welcome, safe, at home. Hospitality is our middle name. The space You will find our home to have a nice yard, not too close to neighbors (like many in Covington). Our airbnb home is clean, comfortable and cozy with free street parking in front of or near our house. Security lights help light your way after dark. Just 3 steps up onto the deck, convenient self check-in with lock box at the Side Door, then step into the house. It may look small from the front, but it opens up nicely as you enter. Hosts live in lower level. You will find an attractive layout and décor. You'll remove your shoes upon entering. Your Master bedroom and en suite bathroom will be clean and private with many toiletries provided. We have upgraded fast internet and a designated workspace. Hand-crafted signs give helpful information about your room, passwords, bathroom, emergency numbers. The Master suite features oak furniture, a comfortable Tempur-Pedic Queen-size bed and a variety of pillows and blankets to choose from. Workspace includes a desk, chair and lamp. High speed internet/Wi-Fi, new 40" Samsung Full HDTV and Netflix are all included for your enjoyment. There is also a bookshelf with a variety of books. The shared space with cathedral ceilings includes a bright, eat-in kitchen. Coffee, tea and a self-serve breakfast are available. Many mornings you may find fruit or treats on the counter. Signage lets you know what's available and where to find things. Cooking is allowed and there is dedicated space in the refrigerator for each guests' items. The living room features a comfy sectional and many house plants. Sherry leaves the living room lamp on at night as well as both porch lights. Tables, chairs and plants make the deck an inviting place to relax, eat, make calls and read. We have no neighbor to our east or south and there are a lot of trees surrounding our yard. We have a lot of privacy for a home in the city. We love all the birds living around us. You will hear them and can watch Kentucky Cardinals, robins, sparrows, even an occasional woodpecker. The squirrels play in the trees and love finding walnuts. Guest access Guests have keys to the house and their private room. The eat-in kitchen/diningroom as well as the cozy living room are welcoming shared spaces. The deck is shared in nice weather too. The hosts live in the lower level which is their private space. Many of our guests are contract workers or have new jobs. Many stay for a month at a time, so Sherry will gladly do guest's laundry downstairs. Simply make arrangements with her. Our 28-year-old home is tucked back in an older, safe residential neighborhood 5 blocks off the main streets. GPS will guide you. Your uber/lyft driver will have no problem finding us. You can come down 25th or Herman St, but if you come down Megerle off Warren St, you will not have to turn around, just pull in. There is plenty of street parking on our side of the street. Two spaces in front of the house (between the driveway and stop sign) and an additional 2-3 spaces behind the driveway are usually available. Covington is over 200 years old and has some amazing areas, sites, and restaurants. Only minutes away, our sister cities, Cincinnati and Newport, KY are waiting for you to explore, shop and dine. Florence, KY also offers great shopping and dining options. There are so many beautiful parks, trails on two rivers and attractions to enjoy in the beautiful spring weather. During your stay Sherry is the host who will do most of the communicating, cleaning and assisting. You will find her helpful and knowledgable. You can always message Sherry and Bill through the app. We can both respond to your needs and questions. You will also have both our cell numbers and can text us (or call) if you prefer. We live in the lower level of our home, and Bill works from home. If you forgot your key or need something while Sherry's at work, Bill can come to the rescue. We are a nice, friendly couple who enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. We will welcome you, and we know you will feel at home. Other things to note Sherry works at the local high school and has already had her covid vaccinations. Each guest may choose whatever they are comfortable with; masks are not required in our airbnb. Sherry keeps a clean house and takes enhanced steps to clean and make it safe for everyone. All guests must also do their part to keep others safe in the airbnb. We have 3 guest rooms here, so most likely there will be another guest or two across the hall. Everyone is gracious and thoughtful of other guests, so there has never been a problem. We have our private quarters in the lower level and are always available if needed. Bill works from home and my school is only 7 blocks away. Please do not park in front of neighbors' houses. Note: No one with GPS or using uber/lyft has had any problem finding our home. As many work guests have longer stays, Sherry provides complimentary laundry service. Just message her when you need laundry done. Doing your own cooking is allowed; we have a new stove and microwave. There is space in the refrigerator/freezer for your food/drink items. Use the guest trays or label you bags/containers. Clean up is essential. Enjoy your cooking, but be considerate of others. We normally have a very quiet neighborhood. However, there is potential for noise as we have train tracks about a block away, a neighbor with a dog and another with children. There is also the occasional noisy vehicle and sirens as in any city. As you walk, you may notice some sqeaking of the floor boards. The hosts are downstairs; don't worry as this does not bother them.
