Crafted with love out of an existing Barsati (Third floor Terrace rm) by an architect and his textile designer wife, this mini home is located in a 1980s exposed brickwork modernist home. No lift access btw. Has a private courtyard and a terrace garden (shared). Ideal for those who want to switch off & escape within the city, workcations or the business traveler looking for a break from the mundane hotels. One can walk barefoot on the clay floor here, listen to the birds and watch the sunset. The space It is a flowing open room with natural terracotta floors and a lot of nooks and corners where you can work or dine in peace. Each activity has been given a definite space. You could consider it a mini home/Studio apartment with a living, dining, work and Lounge area. There is one attached service area (wet area) divided visually with a piece of textile art, This has the wash basin with a counter, a large dressing mirror, a hotel shaving mirror & a stainless steel sink and utensil rack, RO water filter etc. This is also the access to the room for the Bathing area and WC. The best bit of the space is that it is secluded and quiet away from the main road and has a small open courtyard you can sit and lounge in. And is also connected to the terrace which has real natural grass on it. The attached terrace also has a lot of mini trees and plants and a sitting jhoola (swing) in case you want to swing some. Summing it up It is a great space to detach and work or relax and lounge or even for the overnighter. If you enjoy tastefully decorated intimate space stay with us. If you like Italian Marble and expensive finishes this might not be the place for you. The access to the unit is independent of the main house through a separate staircase up the three floors. NO LIFT AVALIBLE. If you try hard and it is a clear day you may be able to spot the Qutab minar from here, atleast we were able to when younger. The room originally was a barsati room which was given on rent and was renovated artistically and with minimal interventions fully to make this space. All modern and functional amenities added for a good stay. The space was designed keeping in mind minimal interventions with maximum effect and Eco friendly finishes like clay and limewash. The Art in the space is specially curated with a few textile artworks by my wife and a few paintings from Bharatpur wildlife sanctuary. The colorful mural work is by a Kerala based mural artist & some company paintings of Delhi historically as well. You should enjoy the warmth that the textiles and art gives the space. The ground floor is where the owner stays and the the first and second floor are on rent with tenants. In case you need help in carrying your luggage up please do inform us in advance. Depending on availability will carry it up till the terrace. We have a dog in case you are wanting to bring your pet. She is mostly friendly with other dogs (depends on a temperament match) but not other cats pets etc. She occasionally comes to the terrace otherwise stays on her own floor on the ground Guest access The guests can use the entire room and the attached courtyard, there will be some servant access to the toilet outside in the courtyard by servants once or twice a day. This is your private space fully. The larger terrace is a shared space and we use it occassionally to rarely. You are most welcome to use it. Strictly no parties allowed though! Other things to note A fully functional private kitchenette is a part of the space and has an induction, kettle, microwave, toaster, filter coffee strainer and tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sugar& green tea. There are all the necessary utensils and cutlery, glasses, cups for you to use. The utensils and cups, glasses area all arranged in drawers and storage areas and would request you to use and keep them back as they have been placed. There is an Lockable almirah with a lockable drawer, this also has travel adaptor, clothing hanging hooks, an iron, extra towels (1 set hand an body), hair dryer. The overhead cabinet has the extra mattress, quilt & bedsheet stored in case you need it. We are not serving meals currently. You are most welcome to order food from Zomato etc.. There is a door bell next to the main terrace door that those guys can ring, also important - do instruct them to come from the smaller left gate and not disturb the main house gate. We would be needing government IDs like passport, license, voter or Aadhaar for all the guests staying. Visa copy required for foreign visitor and Visitor register may need to be signed.
