Start your Louisville trip in this Japandi style home where you'll stay for peace, relaxation, and tranquility with family and friends! We have 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large privacy yard w/ a hot tub, fire pit, grill, string lights and an umbrella patio table. The back yard is even more magical at night under the lights! You're in a prime location in NULU w/ many restaurants, bars and distilleries nearby. If you don’t believe us telling you how great our house is, read our reviews :) The space Whether you are here for bourbon, a conference, music festival, horse racing, or another celebratory event, you can count on our Zen House to be a relaxing, peaceful, and recharging / detoxing space for you during your stay. We have thoughtfully curated the amenities to match or exceed what you have at home, so you don't feel like you're downgrading. Parking- there is free street parking right in front of the house. You should have no issue parking at any hour of the day, and the home is steps away. The covered porch helps keep you dry during rainy days, check ins and check outs. We ask that you consider removing shoes once inside. The living room has been thoughtfully designed to bring people together. For the seating, you have two sofas, two woven floor poufs (perfect for meditating), and a laid back wooden chair. There is a large TV with ROKU that allows you to escape to your favorite show or movie if you choose. You can also opt for some board games or card games. Feel free to pick a book from the hallway shelf. Enjoy a bit of nature from the cascading tabletop fountain. We chose to leave one TV in the living room (and out of the bedrooms) to help promote togetherness, mindfulness and restful sleep. The kitchen aesthetic is green and clean, is brightly lit with a storage pantry/ closet, and is equipped with bowls, pans, pots, sheets, aluminum foil, saran wrap, spices, oil, and a plethora of cooking utensils, knife set, cutting boards, serving plates, bowls, silverware, etc. There is regular and decaf coffee grounds, a variety of teas, a coffee maker, coffee filters & hot water kettle. There is a dining table with chairs and a bench to seat your party. Stainless steel appliances (fridge w/ ice maker & water filter, stove, dishwasher & microwave), white subway tile, white quartz counters and a double wide sink make prep, cooking and cleanup a more pleasant experience. Every bedroom has a memory foam mattress, ceiling fan with remote (on the wall), luggage rack, a spacious closet with velvet hangers, extra blanket and (firm) pillows; a chair, two shelf floor lamps with USB chargers and wireless chargers, an alarm clock and white noise sound machine, and bamboo woven wood shades. Two bathrooms have a beautifully tiled shower, modern black fixtures, linen closet with extra linens and bathroom accessories, extra large mirror, and wide vanity. There should be plenty of counter space and storage for your toiletries. Second floor laundry closet has a washer and dryer with laundry detergent, iron, ironing board. There is a full length mirror on the second floor. Your backyard is a private retreat and oasis, especially at night. Enjoy the hot tub (towels in the pantry closet), fire pit, and outdoor seating (w/ umbrella) for meals. A bassinet or pack and play is available upon request and for an additional cost. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and yard. Other things to note The Zen House is super close to so many great restaurants, bars, shopping, distilleries and entertainment. You can get to many of them within a few minutes. It is also minutes to the airport. (~6.4 miles). DISTILLERIES - you have Rabbit Hole (~0.5 miles), Angels Envy (~0.9 miles), Old Forester (~1.5 miles), Evan Williams (~1.9 miles), and Kentucky Peerless (~2.2 miles). Evergreen is a few minutes away and is our favorite local liquor store, where you can not only shop, but also purchase samples of extremely rare and hard to find whiskies, and the staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. Falls City Brewery is across the street, and a few blocks away are Akasha Brewing, West Sixth Brewery, Goodwood Brewing, and Ten20 Craft Brewery. Just across the creek in the Highlands are Gravely Brewing, Mile Wide Brewery, and Hi-Wire Brewing. No matter what your tastes are, be sure to buy a bottle or two to bring back. EATING - Anyone who eats will be pleased with the dining options within a couple blocks walk to E Market St in NULU. Please & Thank You and Quills for coffee. Biscuit Belly, Bandido Mexican, or Toast on Market for Breakfast. Royals Hot Chicken, Grind Burger, or Feast Barbecue for Lunch. La Bodeguita De Mima, Guacamole, Mayan Cafe, Meesh Meesh (make sure to book waaaay ahead) or Emmy Squared for dinner. A longer, but easily doable walk (or short drive away) you'll find yourself on Main Street in downtown known as Whiskey Mile if you head west, or Bardstown Road if you head east. The dining and shopping increase exponentially in each direction. SPORTS/ENTERTAINMENT - Sports fans will be happy to hear that Slugger Field, The Louisville Slugger, The Muhammad Ali Center, The Frazier History Museum, and the KFC Yum! Center are all within 2 miles. If you like to climb, you have to check out ClimbNulu. Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum are less than a 15 minute drive.
