Guest suite in Ottawa

Discover a perfect getaway in the heart of Ottawa! This large and bright basement suite is steps from Dows Lake, home of the annual Canadian Tulip Festival and Rideau Canal Skateway. It has been fully renovated and includes free parking for mid-sized vehicles - a rare amenity in the area. Close to the Glebe, Little Italy, Lansdowne, Carleton University, the Canal and more, stroll down to some of the best bars, restaurants and cafes in the city. Your family will love this incredibly located stay! The space The fully renovated suite has a separate entrance and features a full bathroom, two queen beds, large sectional couch, 70-inch smart TV, and high-speed internet. The kitchenette is equipped with everything to meet your basic cooking needs: a fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, and Nespresso coffee maker. There is also a single-burner portable induction cooktop that can be used to cook eggs, boil pasta, stir fry vegetables - you name it! There is one private bedroom with a queen bed and a separate queen bed in a bedroom area that is open to the main living/dining space. The unit also includes a dedicated workspace with a large desk and office chair, ideal for traveling students and professionals. The perfect stay for families with young children, the unit is outfitted with a pack-n-play and high chair and is close to many parks and playgrounds. Several board games have been provided for you to enjoy during your stay! Other things to note The unit is the entire basement, with our young family living in the floors above. While we have implemented sound proofing measures where possible, you will likely hear footsteps above and voices may travel to the basement unit. We work to keep noises to a reasonable level, especially during the hours of 8pm-8am. However if you are very sound sensitive and require complete silence, this unit would not be a great fit for you. Note that the unit is accessed via a staircase to the basement (a picture of the stairs is included in the listing photos), so please be advised for guests with mobility issues. As mentioned above, the unit is a basement suite so there are some small areas where the ceiling height is lower due to bulk heads. I am 5’9 and have no issues anywhere in the unit but my partner is 6’5 and has to duck in certain areas between rooms where the bulkheads come down. We offer one parking spot for our guests which can accommodate mid-sized vehicles up to 17 feet in length. A second parking spot or parking for larger vehicles may be accommodated for an additional fee but must be discussed with us prior to arrival. Alternatively, street parking is available and there is a paid Indigo parking lot directly across the street.
