Wave Rossio Studio

The Portuguese sidewalk as we know it was born in the 19th century in the vicinity of the Castle of S. The work, which drew an undulation, was so successful that years later the sidewalk of the central area of Rossio began. A pattern of wavy lines was then conceived, alternating in black and white as if they were waves, in reference to the meeting of the Tagus with the Atlantic Ocean. This famous design, popularized in Rio de Janeiro, and which we honor in this studio, had its beginning here, in Rossio. The space Welcome to this bright studio overlooking one of Lisbon's main squares, Praça D. Pedro IV, or better known as Rossio. In the Kitchenette, you'll find the modern appliances and utensils you need to cook simple meals. If you need to, you can also wash some of your clothes and hang them out in the sun to dry (a Lisbon tradition). Behind the sofa is a comfortable bed (hidden) (160cmx200cm), which is easily and simply ready for you to rest. The "light-blocking" shutters keep the apartment completely dark so you can always have a good night's rest and wake up later if you want. You can cool off in the well-equipped bathroom, where you can wake up in the morning for an energetic shower. Towels will be provided. The property is professionally cleaned prior to your stay. You'll have the entire place to yourself. We will provide the basic necessary products for cooking and bathing. The apartment is soundproofed, thanks to the type of construction and modern double-pane windows. Even in the city center, you can rest comfortably and quietly. (There are temporary construction works in the building in front and to the side. Legally in Portugal, construction work can only take place between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on business days. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the street will certainly be more beautiful on your next visit.) The accommodation capacity is for 2 adults, with the possibility of accommodating a baby up to 3 years old, upon request. No extra guests allowed. Guest access You'll have the entire place to yourself. We will provide the basic necessary products for cooking and bathing. From this apartment, you have easy access to: • Other Places in Lisbon - Chiado, Príncipe Real, Avenida da Liberdade, Alfama, • Rossio and Baixa Pombalina - the heart of Lisbon and a UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate; • Main historical and tourist sites, including the stunning Miradouro da Graça and São Jorge Castle; • The riverfront is 15 minutes away; • 20 minutes from the airport, taxi or metro • 5-minute walk to the metro and tram stops; • 15-minute walk to the Boat Stations; • 5-minute walk to Rossio train station, which will take you in 40 minutes to Sintra (UNESCO World Heritage Site) • 20-minute walk to Cascais train station, which will take you to Belém in 15 minutes and to the beaches of Sto. Amaro de Oeiras, Carcavelos in 30 minutes. Other things to note The building is from the Pombalina era, recently recovered. Note that due to the architectural features there is no elevator in the building. The apartment is located on a pedestrian street, at the beginning of a hill, on a 3rd floor. Please note that the apartment is on a 3rd floor WITHOUT AN ELEVATOR, which can make it difficult to climb especially if you have many bags. Do not forget that at the end of the ascent you will have a stunning landscape. The apartment has high speed internet and Smartv 4K. The apartment has a fan-cooler. Unfortunately, the apartment is not prepared to receive pets. Electricity: It is quite common in Lisbon for electricity to switch off if more than two high-powered electrical appliances are being used at the same time. Keep this in mind when using appliances such as air conditioning, oven, hair dryers, kettles, toasters, etc. If guests lock themselves outside the property or do not return the keys to the safe at check-out, a fee of 75€ will apply. If a guest loses a set of keys during their stay, a fee of 90€ will apply. Please note that the water heater has limited capacity. Once the hot water runs out, it may take some time for the water to warm up. The apartment is planned to have hot showers with above average duration, however the water is scarce, help us to save water, so scarce on the planet and especially in southern Europe.
