Seasonal Medora Musical and year-round Theodore Roosevelt National Park are 35 minutes West. The space The two-bedroom Granny's Corner Suite offers 1 queen and 1 full-sized bed, along with an almost full-size pull-out sofa bed in the living room. The suite can be combined with Grandpa's Attic above for more beds. The property is just blocks away from the interstate exit 59 and within an easy walk to family-friendly Phat Fish Brewery, the new Big Bite Tacos, Dickinson State University, and 2 playgrounds. With a longer stroll, you can find several more restaurants, a dollar store, gas stations, and many churches within an 8-block radius. Several of the local restaurants offer delivery, as well as DoorDash. Do take some time to savor the local flavors while you're here! After you enter your self-check-in code at the front door, you will find a glider for an easy morning workout. There is an additional queen-sized air mattress, a playpen, sheets, and blankets in the closet for your comfort. Please remove your shoes, if possible, to help protect the painted floors, and make yourself at home. Next is the dining area with the kitchen in front of you to enjoy a variety of treats to enjoy. There are many Keurig choices to be found in the kitchen, along with a drip coffee machine under the sink. Bring your own grounds for that one. While we try to keep 4 bottled waters stocked in the refrigerator upon arrival for your travels, the filter on the sink is there for your H2O enjoyment as well. Whenever you leave Granny's Corner Suite, please don't forget to shut the screen door because the prairie winds do blow strong at times. To lock the door, just tap and hold the pound symbol (#) until the door says it’s locked. Do not twist the knob lock below the codes key pad. It has no code. The generated code is timed, activated from 3:00 PM on the check-in day to 11:00 AM check-out day. While we give it our utmost attention, should we have missed anything, please alert us within 2 hours of arrival of anything not meeting your 5-star review, so that we may have the opportunity to make it right or better. It's those 5-star ratings that keep us in business, allowing us to continue to welcome guests with great service. *The bathroom is supplied with towels and toiletries. *The living room greets our guests with electric candles opposite the electric fireplace. Remotes are under the lamps. *The two bedrooms are on either side of the living room space: The Westside lighter bedroom has a full-sized bed and enjoys afternoon sun. The Eastside dark bedroom has a queen-sized bed and enjoys the friendly morning sparkle with shade throughout most of the day. Both have closets, hangers, dressers, and laundry baskets for use during your stay. *The common laundry area, right outside the interior back door of the suite. The common area is supplied with soaps/dryer sheets, a spare laundry basket, a vacuum, broom, duster, iron, and ironing board. You may meet other guests from Grandpa's Attic above you, the hosts, housekeeping, or maintenance personnel inside the common areas beyond your back door. ***Please do not wash oil clothes and be kind to the machines and other guests waiting to use the machines. So, if you need to wash more than 3 loads of clothes during your short stay or a week for a longer stay OR if you have oil clothes to wash, please consider Paradise Laundry, behind Hobby Lobby at the Mall, has drop off and pick up at $3.30 per pound for oil clothing. There are other laundromats in the area as well that can handle hiking shoes, heavy sleeping bags, and other odd items. Please, do not wash these types of items in the machines at Granny's Corner. As a friendly exploration note: If you wish to see the National Park with all of its 3 separate units more fully, try to spread it over multi-days exploring the vast badlands where Theodore Roosevelt himself came to roam, to work, and to heal after losing his mother and his first wife on the very same Valentine's Day. Thank you for choosing us to host you as you adventure forth! We wish you safe journeys to wherever your feet may take you next! Guest access You are welcome to park in the front drive that accommodates 1 or 2 average passenger cars or on the street if needed. The private entrance is through the coded front door. You may need to wake up the lock to enter code by touching the pad before entering your code. The back door of your space opens into the shared common laundry area. Each of the two doors of the suite has a deadbolt and chain for your comfort and security. ** The Laundry area is a common area between guest lodging and may be shared by other guests, housekeeping, or owners at any time. If any animal exceptions have been made for either guest quarters, no animals are allowed in this space. There are several public laundry facilities around town for bulkier objects or oil clothes. The back door of the building should be locked at all times. It has a private code given to upstairs guests and staff, but you are welcome to exit that way by turning the deadlock at any time or in case of emergencies. Please make sure that it is fully pulled closed shut as it automatically relocks in 10 seconds. Again: To lock the front door when you leave, simply push the pound (#) button until it says, 'door is locked'. Your code will expire when you are scheduled to leave. Make sure to close and latch the screen door every time you leave. Otherwise, the prairie winds will catch it and cause damage. Replacement doors are a bit expensive, so please take care to close them. Thank you for visiting! Other things to note WIFI is available and the password should arrive electronically prior to check-in, but it is also noted in the unit. >Please be gentle with the shower diverter. It pulls up easy to start the shower. >>>>When it is time to go, do give your space a final look to claim any items you might have forgotten. All left behind items will be tossed at cleaning. >>>>>>Make sure the bathroom fan and the knobs on the gas cook stove are off prior to leaving. >>>>No smoking is allowed anywhere inside the building. It is not possible to remove the odor between guests. Thank you for your understanding. We supply a variety of items, such as: dish soap, paper towels, and treats in the kitchen; toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes with toothpaste, razors with shaving cream, bandaids and bactine in the bathroom; a small treat is in either bedroom; laundry soaps and dryer sheets in the laundry area with a tide stain pen; and of course, pillows, blankets and linens in the bedrooms. We want our guests to feel comfortable and welcome. **Extra sheets and towels are available upon request for stays longer than 2 days or in case of unforeseen accidents. P >>>> See the manual for operating the bedroom light remotes or ask. Hosts will be happy to explain them. We don't want anyone in the dark. (In short: Top left for light, numbers on bottom for speed of fan.) We like to leave our lights on for all of our guests, so if the light switch was on when you arrive, please don't shut it off. But for those that were off, like the kitchen or bathroom lights, please do turn those back off before you depart. Don't forget to close any windows or doors you may have opened. Thank you again for the privilege to host you during your travels!
