With Lake James just down the hill to the south and bordered by Pisgah National Forest to the north, this property is quietly set in an ideal location for outdoor activities or a relaxing and quiet getaway. Explore the Linville Gorge recreational area with dozens of waterfalls, hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, or drive to one of the nearby breweries or wineries for some local refreshment. At the end of your day, relax on a spacious and well-appointed elevated deck with a picturesque view of Shortoff mountain. On a misty day, chill on the large sectional couch, enjoy the cozy fireplace, relax with a book, or unwind with your favorite movies. Cook up a storm in the new kitchen with brand-new appliances. Coffee maker and complimentary coffee included. The dining table seats 6, with additional outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful views. An open loft features a queen bed, sitting area, and a desk for working. The back deck is equipped with outdoor furniture, gas grill, and a gas fireplace for cozy evenings. The covered front porch features seating for up to 6 people, including front porch swing, ideal for enjoying the outdoors rain or shine. Bed linens and towels are included in the rental. Kitchen is fully equipped. A reasonable amount of paper towels, toilet paper, and dishwasher detergent are also provided. Other things to note **Wildlife** Our property is located in the Pisgah Forest and is in close proximity to Lake James and undeveloped land. You may see or encounter wildlife while in our neighborhood and/or the surrounding areas; including but not limited to: deer, bears, foxes and other native wild animals, snakes; frogs, birds, bees, wasps, mosquitoes, spiders, fire ants, black ants, stink bugs, crickets, ticks, roaches, or roly poly's to name a few. These creatures reside in nature. We routinely treat for pests in and around the home to reduce the incidence of bugs, however, we cannot control Mother Nature and therefore, do not refund if you encounter her business during your stay. To help deter the bears, please clean up after dining outside and wipe down any surfaces to avoid leftover foods attracting wildlife. **ID Verification** - To ensure a safe and secure experience for all guests, we may require you to provide a valid form of identification prior to check-in. This helps us verify your booking and maintain a secure environment. Your information will be handled with the utmost confidentiality. **Mail and Deliveries:** Due to the remote location of our home, mail and packages cannot be delivered unless persons are registered with the local post office. As such, guests are not able to receive packages or mail during their stay. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
