For EU citizens, an identity card or passport is accepted, while for non-EU citizens, only a passport is required (a residence permit is not accepted). These documents are necessary for the identification and registration of tourist flows to the competent authorities, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Law 2016/679. The last step of the online check-in is the payment of the accommodation tax, a mandatory contribution provided for by Italian law for all guests not residing in the Municipality, regardless of the booking channel used. Failure to pay the accommodation tax prevents the completion of check-in, as required by current legislation.
