Guesthouse is 1bdrm with a Qn bed and attached bath, full-size kitchen with dining table. Living room with attached private back deck area. Wifi & Amazon Firestick TV is provided. Private enclosed front porch with laundry area. Outdoor property amenities include; Bamboo Gazebo hot tub and sitting deck, an enclosed outdoor kitchen with BBQ, a seated fire pit area, and walking paths. Best fit for guests who like a casual homey and relaxed environment - ideal for a staycation-style getaway. A comfy and casual accommodation. Ideal for guests who might be looking for a rural retreat while still being close to town & other activities. The property is six acres of woodlands, and a small hobby farm with gardens, horses, goats, chickens, domestic pets, and lots of wildlife visitors. The guesthouse is a one-bedroom with a Queen bed, closet and dresser space, and built-in shelves; attached en suite bathroom with tub and shower - stocked with shampoo/bath gel/soap and plenty of towels and extras. The kitchen is full-sized and appointed with various cooking supplies including spices/oils, breakfast foods, and eggs. For extended stays, we do have additional storage areas available in the private enclosed front porch with access to coolers and other outdoor activity accessories. The guest house also has a private back deck with an attached, fenced-in, ground-level area for pets to have a little off-leash time. The property is a very woodsy & natural setting with several covered and uncovered sitting area locations across the property (check out the map in the listing images). The area we call 'The Grove' is our outdoor movie area with a large screen, fire pits, and a seating area with covered dining and snack bar/food prep areas. Longer-stay guests can expect to be asked if they'd like to have a 'movie night' during their and short-stay guests (3+ nights) are welcome to ask for one - and we'd be happy to provide that experience if our schedule & weather is permitting. In the fall/winter/early spring months when it may be too rainy to have a movie night - guests are still invited to go up and make a fire to relax by -- we have grilling/roasting sticks. We provide all the wood and supplies and there is a hose nearby for safety. In the summer months if there is no burn ban the same availability applies. We also invite our guests to experience the western-themed enclosed outdoor kitchen & lounge area equipped with; a flat-top grill, stove burners, deep fryer, and an outdoor BBQ . In the winter the outdoor kitchen is fully enclosed but can still be quite chilly - there is a Victorian coal stove that we can warm up several hours in advance for you (it takes that long to warm the area up so just let us know :) A guest favorite is the Bamboo enclosed Hot Tub gazebo with an attached open-air lounging deck. We also provide guests with spa robes and towels in the guesthouse and large beach towels in the gazebo. For privacy, there are cabana curtains. (The hot tub is open year-round; *with the exception of hard freezes or extended cold spells below freezing during which the tub may not be operational we cannot control when that happens but we do everything we can for our winter guests to keep the hot tub operational). PET POLICY ($25 Per Stay Pet Fee): We're pet friendly up to 2 dogs and/or 1 cat. Please disclose at the time of booking what pets you will be traveling with so we can stock specific amenities for your pets and use pet-friendly cleaning products prior to your arrival. Pets must be on leash at all times on the property with the exception of when they're using the private back deck and enclosed lower patio area attached to the guesthouse. Seasons Here and What to Expect: Winter through Early Spring: You can count on rain and possibly snow. During the months of Jan/Feb it's not uncommon for much of the property to be frozen with periods of snow. Spring: Can still be a rainy period, the leaves will start filling in the stark areas of our little forest and we will be just beginning our post-winter cleanup. Late Spring/Early Fall: The best weather of the year and the property is in its full greenery glory. Excellent time for walks, BBQing and movie nights. Late July/August can see some very warm temps (high 80's - 90's) the guesthouse has several fans and generally is the coolest building on the property (we do not have AC). The back deck is shaded and we lower the hot tub to 'heated pool' temps for a refreshing experience. Fall: We generally see a return to rainy days and much cooler overnight temps. Guests have private parking (with the ability to drive up to load and unload into the guesthouse as needed). The entire guesthouse is the sole use/access to guests. Next door to the guesthouse is our private in-law suite which is seasonally occupied by a visiting friend or family member. Your hosts live in a separate home just up the driveway from you on the property. (see the property layout map in the images) Check-in anytime after 4pm. We will contact you through the Airbnb app/msg area the morning of your arrival to make sure you have all the finer arrival details and see if you have an eta. We're here as much or as little as you need/want us. If you plan to make use of any of the property amenities outside of the guesthouse itself we do need to give you the 'grand tour' to show you where everything is as well as give you the 'how to' so that you can immediately feel at home and use all the facilities at your leisure. We are located exactly 7-miles from the Sunset Rd Exit off of I-5. Sunset Drive turns into the 'Mt. Baker Hwy' a 2 lane rural highway (the drive to and from I-5 to our location is approximately 11 minutes) - our nearest cross street is the Kelly Rd. and We're near the Rome Store which is a not to be missed local gem for anything from cooking essentials to deli and bakery treats. We have a new grocery store just down the road a few miles too! While we are not near any public transportation; if you are arriving by plane/bus/train you may want to either rent a vehicle or plan to use a ride-share service such as Uber/Lyft. Our hosting goal is to make sure every guest has a truly relaxing stay. We strive to create an environment that allows you to feel far away from it all while still being close to everything that Bellingham and the surrounding areas have to offer. It's SUPER important for guests to know that we are on a septic system and we remind guests that nothing other than toilet paper can be flushed. Even the personal wipes that say they are flushable are not compatible with our system.
