We are a couple, David and Juanita, (USA and Colombia) and along with Juanita's brother Santiago, we began creating this space at the beginning of January 2019 with a vision in mind… to create a comfortable, beautiful place where visitors from around the world can enjoy a unique Caleño experience. The space itself offers a relaxing environment and has a distinct style with lots of color, light, and fresh air. We live one floor above and will be available to help with anything you need. The space We are a couple, David and Juanita, (USA and Colombia) and along with Juanita's brother Santiago, we began creating this space January 2019 with a vision in mind… to offer a comfortable, beautiful place where visitors from around the world can enjoy a unique Cali experience. The space itself offers a relaxing environment and has a distinct style with lots of color light, and fresh air. In our common area, there is a library, large dining table, and a comfortable couch. There is also a smaller table and seats along the corridor towards the kitchen, conveniently located near our coffee bar. In the coffee bar area, guests can enjoy free coffee, tea, filtered water, and hot chocolate day or night. Next to the coffee bar is the kitchen that offers all the amenities guests need for preparing and cooking food. There are four bedrooms in the space and each one is equipped with a Smart TV where guests can connect to their favorite apps like Netflix or can connect their computers or phones directly to the TV. Each room also has a high-quality air conditioning unit. The first room, "A day in the Tropics" is our largest room that has a spacious, private bathroom, a private balcony with comfortable seats and a table overlooking our beautiful, green garden in the front part of the building. There is a large open closet area and a mini-fridge for any food or drinks. The room has a desk and chair and a very comfortable, king-sized bed. The room can also be arranged with two or three single beds if guests would like separate sleeping arrangements. Please be sure to indicate if you would like separate sleeping arrangements, so we can organize that before your arrival. This extra single bed in the room can also serve as a sofa in case it's not being used to sleep in. Our second room, which we call "Secret Garden" is our medium-sized room that comes with a private bathroom, desk, and king-sized bed. The room can also be arranged with two single beds if guests would like separate sleeping arrangements. Please be sure to indicate if you would like separate sleeping arrangements when making your reservation so we can organize that before your arrival. There is ample open closet space to store your belongings as well. The two twin rooms we call "Starry night" and "Yellow Moon". Each has ample closet space for belongings. These two rooms have a great view of the city and receive the most amount of sunlight, but there are blackout curtains as well. These two rooms share a bathroom. Both rooms have private access to the sink area of the bathroom that is separated from the toilet and shower area, making it very convenient for a shared bathroom. The building itself is owned by the family and is in one of the nicest areas in the city. We live only one floor above this space and will be available to help with anything you need and also to provide recommendations about things to see and do in Cali and Colombia. We like to plan hikes to Las 3 cruces and guests are always welcome to come with us. Guest access You will have access to the entire space including the kitchen, balcony, coffee bar, all the rooms and bathrooms, and common area and library. The house also has a common space on the floor right outside of the space that is used for yoga, stretching, relaxing or even receiving a dance class. You can also enjoy the garden in the front part of the house. Other things to note There is hot water for the shower, however it can sometimes take a minute or so for it to heat up. If you require parking, there is limited parking, so please let us know before you arrive so we can coordinate. Guests are generally able to park in the driveway right outside of our building, but there is limited space. Although our area is very safe, we do have 24/7 security that monitors our block.
