Conveniently located between two Yosemite entrances (1 hr 10 min from Arch Rock, 50 min from South Gate). Tall Ponderosa Pine, Oak, & Cedar trees create a peaceful forested environment with abundant wildlife, including: deer, turkey, squirrel, fox, and countless native and migratory birds. The Eastern Fork of the Chowchilla River is just a 5 minute walk down the road if you'd like to dip your toes in! The space We believe in caring for the earth and stock the suite with eco-friendly products, including: natural soap, shampoo, and conditioner, organic coffee, as well as 100% cotton towels and organic linens. We are on solar power and have backup batteries in case of a power outage, which can happen occasionally in the mountains. The studio is equipped with one full bed, private bathroom and shower, mini split heater/AC, and a small kitchenette with mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dish ware, filtered water, and electric kettle. You also have your own covered patio with private entrance in the front of the house, with cushioned cedar wood chairs that are perfect for sitting in and watching the sunset. We think this space is perfect for couples, solo travelers, families with a small child, or a pair of friends. Guest access The space is located on the ground floor of our home and is very private. My husband and I live upstairs on the second story (along with our German Shepherd, Milo), and are happy to share with you our favorite hikes, restaurants, and other fun activities in the area. Other things to note Depending on your network, you may not have cell coverage in all parts of Mariposa County (Verizon seems to have the best coverage). We advise that you print out directions ahead of time. Sometimes GPS can put you on forest service roads that may not be passable without high clearance 4WD. It's best to stick to highways and other paved roads :)
