Welcome to Darling Starling, a special little house where a wave of relaxation hits the moment you walk through the door. Tucked away on an unpaved road mere steps from beautiful Copake Lake, it's the quintessential Autumn retreat. Inside it's cozy, with the original wood paneling and hand-painted wallpaper. Outside, it's vibrant blue with birdsong all around. The neighborhood is quiet and the lake glitters from down the street. Fall paradise is here. The space Darling Starling is a charming little lakehouse near Copake Lake. It's warm and inviting interior has everything you need to unwind near the lake. Half a block away at the bottom of the hill is the lake - we are happy to provide a canoe or some kayaks if you wish to explore, or even take a dip before it gets too cool! 25 min from Hudson/Great Barrington, both with fantastic shops and restaurants, and many more in between. Surrounded by various farmstands and orchards if you want to pick your own pumpkins or apples! Gorgeous hikes in the area bring you to waterfalls and fall colors all around. If you are a golfer, The Greens is an 18 hole public golf course very nearby, which also has a farm to table restaurant and bar that serves fantastic foods overlooking the lake. The kitchen is well equipped with blender, food processor, pots, pans and chef's knives. Out back is a Solo stove for an easy firepit surrounded by chairs. On the deck is a 16' long picnic style table with views into the greenery behind, and slivers of lake shining through in golden hour. It's the perfect place to dine al fresco any time of day. A South American style hammock is slung beside the house under the trees, along with a swing bench for a relaxing hang. The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet - one with a queen and one with a full, and new smart TV if you wish to stay in. It is the quintessential upstate retreat where you can relax and enjoy the change of seasons!
