Vintage 1972 Kleinhaus Chalet 1 mile from Beech Mountain Ski Resort. Family friendly, dog friendly. ⛷️ Beech Mountain Ski Resort opening day is November 22, 2025 ⛷️ Beech Mountain Club (Sports) Membership available to transfer! Message for details The space 🌄The Edelweiss is a charming chalet with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen and a gas grill, all on 1 level living. The cabin sits at 4444’ elevation with views of the Pinnacle Ridge. Unwind and enjoy nature, as a creek runs along the property and hiking trails are just a stone’s throw away. The Beech Mountain Ski Resort is a short 1 mile away for all your ski, snowboarding, and mountain biking needs as well as the home to Beech Mountain brewery! Historic downtown Banner Elk is a 13 min drive down the mountain with wonderful restaurants and boutique shops. North Carolina’s only alpine coaster – Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster - is a short 20 mins away. Cross the famous Mile-High bridge at Grandfather Mountain only 38 minutes away. Come enjoy all that Beech Mountain and the surrounding high country have to offer from the comforts of the Edelweiss. 🏠This 1972 chalet offers 3 bedrooms all on one level. The primary bedroom has a queen-size bed with brand new super comfy mattress and a private bathroom attached. The secondary bedroom has a full-size bed with a new super-comfortable mattress. The 3rd bedroom / large den offers 2 queen-size beds along with a hangout spot for movies on the flatscreen TV as well as games and puzzles for the family located in the cabinet under the TV. The den also has a propane fireplace available for use for those cozy winter nights as well as deck access via the sliding doors. We can accommodate up to 8 guests and up to 2 dogs. There will be a $100 charge per unauthorized guest over our limit. ☕🍳The kitchen is stocked with oil, spices, and cookware needed for all meals. There is a coffee station with a starter kit of Keurig coffee (kcups), teas, creamers, and sugar. There is also a French press and a hot water kettle available for use. The back patio has a propane gas grill available too! We also supply a starter kit of paper towels, dish soap, toilet paper, and trash bags. 🛒We are conveniently located 5 minutes (1.8 miles) from Fred’s General Mercantile – the cutest general store known for its one-stop shopping open 365 days a year. Fred’s has groceries, clothing, ski rentals, firewood, and a backside Deli that serves breakfast and sandwiches. Food Lion, Lowes Foods, and Dollar General are also nearby should you need anything during your stay! 🎲♟️We have lots of books and some board games for the kids and family. We want to create a sense of family nostalgia to help make your trip even more enjoyable. We just ask that you help your littles return the game pieces to the correct boxes. 🔥There is a firepit in the backyard available for use as well as a propane firepit on the front porch balcony. Firewood is available at Fred’s general store if you need extra! 🛁There is a standup shower in the bathroom attached to the primary bedroom and a bathtub/shower combo located in the second bathroom. 🧺👕We have a washer and dryer available for our guests! There are also some extra cleaning supplies as well as a first aid kit located in the laundry room. 💻 We have fiber-optic internet / WiFi available. Please note that the WiFi router is located under the bed in the den (white box) - this has to remain plugged in for the WiFi to work properly 📲🖥️ The property does not have air conditioning, but it doesn't need it because the summer high averages 75 degrees. A ceiling fan in every room and multiple fans throughout the house keep it cool and comfortable year-round, as well as provide a little extra breeze/white noise when you sleep. My favorite is to use the fans in the warmer months in front of an open window to bring in the fresh mountain air, especially during the cool summer nights. 💡❓Need anything else for your stay? Don’t be afraid to ask! We will try our best to make your stay as stress-free and comfortable as possible. 🐶 We allow up to 2 dogs with a pet fee that is non-refundable. Dogs are not allowed on any furniture/beds. Additional fees may be charged for extra cleaning and/or damage caused by pets. Please be neat with your pet and pick up any mess left in the yard (we do have doggie waste bags available for your convenience!) 🐻*Please note bears and deer do live on the mountain and oftentimes are found wandering near the house. Please take extra caution with bears and always keep your dog on a leash while out for a walk/ bathroom break. We do not have a fenced-in area. *** Please remember that we do get snow, ice, rain, fog, and other occasional inconveniences that are out of our control here in the mountains. Winter weather can occur here from November through April. This property is accessed and maintained via a gravel driveway and parking area which may be icy or snowy during winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means four-wheel drive, good tires, and possibly snow chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for potentially hazardous road conditions. There will be no refunds or allowances resulting from weather conditions out of our control. *** Guest access 🔑You will have access to the entire home except the basement and owner’s closet, where we keep supplies. 4WD or AWD vehicles are needed to utilize the gravel driveway fully. The property has a shared paved circle driveway suitable for one 2WD vehicle to park at the base; please do not park on the paved portion (owned by the neighbor at 318), and do not block the circle driveway. 2WD vehicles must enter at the sign for 318. While the house is all one level- there are a small set of stairs to access the house on the back porch as well as a larger staircase to access the front porch from the driveway. We normally access the house via the back porch as we park at the top of the driveway by the back porch. Other things to note ⛳Beech Mountain Club membership The property comes with the option to transfer (with a fee) a Sports membership to Beech Mountain Club, which includes access to the golf course, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, pool, fitness center, spa, pub, fine dining, and events. ⛷️Check out Beech Mountain Resort for any upcoming events! Summer concert series and more!
