Nothing in the decor is accidental, and everything has a personal touch – from the ceramics in the kitchen cabinet to the art on the walls. Both outside and inside – and in both the main house and guest house – it is designed to live life simply and with time and space to enjoy that the time is your own. Today's meals can be enjoyed at the kitchen's terrazzo table, outdoors on the wide wooden terrace with a beautiful outdoor oven/pizza grill or the small stone terrace behind the house, the nights are spent up under the roof overlooking the heart of the house - and the rest of the time the garden, family hammock under the apple tree and the island's many, cozy activities beckon. Outside, a densely overgrown forest floor filled with blackberry bushes, nut bushes and larch trees awaits; a small piece of untamed garden that invites both exploration and relaxation. Sit on the terrace, on the bench or around the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine while letting your shoulders relax. When you are not enjoying the undisturbed life here or in the house, you can explore Orø and the island's cozy restaurants, pick up fresh fish in the harbor or buy local ceramics and crafts. Even if you are only an hour from Copenhagen, nature is always very close, and when there are no visits from deer, pheasants or squirrels on the cottage grounds, there are numerous opportunities for excursions and experiences in the area. Here you will find a child-friendly beach with a blue flag, a bathing jetty in the harbor for the morning dip, recognized hiking trails and the opportunity to take a trip in a rented sea kayak.
