Cozy 1700s farmhouse on Seskarö Island

Our farmhouse locates in the beautiful nordic island of Seskarö. Haparanda 20min, Rovaniemi 1h 50min, Kalix 40 min, Luleå 1h 40min, Oulu 2h. The farmhouse has experienced a beautiful transformation from a rundown schack to a darling and loveable farmhouse. Its nice wallpapered walls and warm interior makes it to a cozy place to stay! There are 5 beds of which 2 are for max 165cm long persons. Extra matresses can be asked if needed. The space When you open the door to this 1700s homestead, you are welcomed by the warm and cozy atmosfere, where the 3 metres/9feet height of the ceiling, gorgeous wallpapers and the big ceiling lamp brings you to old times glamour. Old and new in a beautiful harmony. From the hallway you come to the kitchen, livingroom and dining are, which are all in one big room. IN THE KITCHEN comes beautifully together new and old, modern and antique. Kitchen cabinets, faucet, porclain sink, drying rack, fridge, freezer, oven/stove. I the cabinets you will find mostly all the needed tools for a successful baking or cooking experience. On the wall there are storageshelves and a little cupboard for cups and glasses. IN THE LIVINGROOM there is a big antique sofa, two chairs and an antique serving wagon. Beautiful handmade rugs brings softness and warmth on the floors. The floors are plain woodfloors that are washed oldtime ways with linseedoilsoap. IN THE DINING AREA there is an antique shelf and a dresser for dishes and partystuff. There you can find a service for 6 people, table cloths and candles, napkins etc. The table is in front of the window and there is 4 chairs around it. It can be extended and more chairs can be brought if needed. Above the diningtable there is a beautiful antique light fixture. In the room there is also a romantic and crackled fireplace where you can burn candles. IN THE MASTERBEDROOM there is a 180cm wide bed, which comfort many users has praised. A white bedskirt, beautiful bedlinens in soft colour and down filled pillows and blankets makes the bed inviting. In the room there is an antique linen cupboard with an oval mirror, where you can store your clothes. From the windows you see some birdcherry trees that bloom beautifully during june and a meadow where horses are grazing during summer months. IN THE CHILDRENS ROOM there is a beautiful feeling, where the antique wooden bed is in the centre with a cozy canopy. The madrass is of thick foam and there fits fine two kids up to 160cm or 3 smaller kids. Linens are soft coloured cotton and pillows and blanket are down filled. In the room there is also a big wooden dresser, a desk and a chair. Kids toys and games are stored in this room. From the windows you can see to the meadow, where some horses are grazing during summer months. BATHROOM In the bathroom there is a shower in the corner with a hand and ceiling shower with many different settings and a shower curtain keeping the rest of the room dry. In the bathroom sink cabinet you can find more toiletpaper, hairdryer and some cleaning supplies. Under the window there is a bathtub, where you can take a rekaxing bath. Alltough its good to notice that the water heater is 100litres and cant warm both dishwashing, showers and bathtubwater the same time. In the room there is also a cloth drying rack and vacuummachine and a mop. If more beds are needed we have one foldable bed that fits in the livingroom. Also the wooden sofa in the hall is possible to transform to a bed. So atleast 5 adults (with the foldable bed) alltogether fits here. In case there is a need for spece for a bigger crew, there is space for campers on the yard. 20€ per night, per camper. On the yard there is good space for outside games and sit by the bonfire, drink coffee or eat dinner. In the cabin or outside can be arranged some family gatherings or smaller, alcoholfree parties. SAUNA: Sauna can be freely warmed with the firewood that is stored in the wood shed, that is attached to the building on the left side. The watertank needs to be filled before firing the stove. IN THE FALL: There is a great possibility to see some beautiful northern lights from the farmhouse yard during the cooler evenings in the late summer and fall. Just turn off the garden lights and enjoy magical northern lights to the fullest. You can make it to an extra special experience if you have the hottub heated.
