Water Levels: Every year beginning in September, Alabama Power will lower the water levels by 2 feet per month through the end of December. Water levels will vary dependent upon drainage and rain fall. Every year from January through April, Alabama Power will increase the water levels 2 feet per month, with the peak being on May 1st of each year. Water levels will vary dependent upon rain fall the speed at which the water is released from the dam.
