Welcome to the stunning Casa de los Cerros. The casa is composed of two neighbouring and individual penthouse apartments, Cerro Azul and Cerro Colorado, that share the top floors of our block offering the best of both worlds with breathtaking mountain and sea views. Perfectly situated for nature enthusiasts and beach lovers alike, our tranquil haven promises a serene escape from everyday life. Our apartments can be rented individually or together for larger families or groups. The space Our property is composed of two beautiful penthouses which occupy the whole top 2 floors of our block have panoramic views overlooking the Calanova golf course, the Sierra de Mijas mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Apartment 114 is called Cerro Azul and apartment 115 is called Cerro Colorado. You always see the blue of the sea and the beautiful peaks of the Sierra de Mijas mountains from every room. We are set in a gated community called the Cala Hill Club with an onsite English and Spanish speaking concierge who can answer any of your questions. The community is set in the hills up from the beach in an area called Cortijo Colorado. We are an 10 minute drive from La Cala de Mijas and its beautiful beach, 7 minute drive to Calahonda beaches, 30 minute drive from Malaga International Airport, 30 minutes from central Malaga, 15 minutes from Fuengirola, 25 minutes to central Marbella and 20 minutes from beautiful Mijas Pueblo. Further afield you can reach Granada in 2 hours and Seville in 2 1/2 hours. Main floors In each of the apartments main floor there is a large panoramic terrace (30m2) which has a beautiful wooden pergola and comfortable patio furniture. The terrace is a cool place to hang out in the hot summer sun as it gets lovely breezes from the sea and it is full of beautiful plants and flowers. The main floors also have a spacious living / dining room with large panoramic patio doors so you can always see the sea and mountains. There is a large smart TV in each living room Netflix, Prime and a host of other entertainment. The living room in Cerro Azul has 2 large sofas that can be converted into 2 single beds with the addition of two single mattresses (on demand - please advise us in advance). Cerro Colorado has a sofabed which can be converted into a queen size bed. Each appartment has a dining table with 6 chairs. The apartments have fibre optic internet with a download speed of 600 mb/s. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven, cooktop, dishwasher and microwave. We provide a starter kit with coffee, tea, milk and sugar in each appartment. There are also a laundry rooms with a washing machine and drying rack. From the lounges you access the main floor bedroom which has a queen size bed in cerro Azul and 2 single beds in Cerro Colorado, fitted wardrobes and sea views. There is also a full bathroom adjacent to the bedroom with a shower, toilet and sink. The apartment is fitted with an alarm system which will be deactivated during your stay. Upper floor From the main floor there are stairs leading to the master bedroom suite. The master bedroom has a king size bed, built in wardrobes, an ensuite bathroom with bathtub, shower, toilet, bidet and sink. The bathroom has a skylight to let in natural light. The highlight of the upper floor suite is your own personal terrace overlooking the mountains and sea. The terrace has a table a chairs where you can lounge in the morning and enjoy the rising sun. All bed linens, bathroom towels and beach towels are provided. The Cala Hill Club The apartment is part of a gated community called the Cala Hill Club. The community has beautiful and well maintained landscape gardens, 3 swimming pools, 3 jacuzzis, a Finnish sauna and a fully equipped gym for your use. There are many sun loungers around the pools and in chill out zones. There are also day beds. During the summer months there is a small snack bar at the main pool. It is really a relaxing place to stay away from the hustle and bustle, yet only a short car or uber ride away from the beautiful town of La Cala de Mijas and the beaches of La Cala and Calahonda. The Calanova Golf Club is a short walk or drive away. It has a fabulous 18 hole golf course at the foot of the Mijas mountains overlooking the sea. It also has a great club house which is open to everyone for breakfast, lunch and dinner or just a drink on the beautiful terrace. Parking and getting around We have a dedicated underground parking space for you to park your car (space number 21). We recommend that you hire a car in Malaga airport so that you can get around easily and visit the many beautiful spots the region has to offer. It is also possible to take an Uber or Taxi in the evenings if you want to go out. It is an 10 minute ride to the center of La Cala de Mijas. There are also local buses not too far from the apartment that will take you to La Cala or Fuengirola. In Fuengirola there is also a train (Cercanias) which will take you to central Malaga (Alameda or Malaga train station) for those that do not want to drive or park in Malaga. La Cala de Mijas La Cala is an old fishing village which still has many of its original houses. It also has an 18th century watch tower called the Torre de la Batería in its center. There are many shops, restaurants and bars in the town center as well as several super markets and banks. There is the beautiful Senda Litoral (boardwalk along the sea) which stretches for 40km all the way to Marbella. It is a lovely place to go for a morning walk with the sunrise or for a stroll at sunset. There are some great Chiringuitos (bar/restaurants) all along the boardwalk where you can stop for a refreshing drink or something to eat. There are also the famous Espetos (small freshly caught sardines) that they grill over open fires on the beach which are delicious. There are large beaches at La Cala where you can relax or go for a cool dip in the Mediterranean. There are 3 blue flag beaches in the area, La Cala El Chaparral Beach, Calahonda Royal Beach and El Bombo beach. The town has avoided mass development linked to high volume tourism and even though it can be busy in the summer, it still feels like a relaxing Spanish seaside town which is great for families.
