Description

🌿 Unique Ecolodge in Luxor West Bank — peaceful retreat in the heart of nature, surrounded by trees and flowers, with pool and views of the Theban mountains. Raw earth house combining traditional charm and modern comfort. After your temple visits, relax by the pool and let the magic of the place work. Transfers, breakfasts, homemade meals and excursions on request for a simple and unforgettable stay. A rare place where culture, nature and serenity mingle. The space 🏡 El Beit Ecolodge – Hassan Fathy-inspired traditional Egyptian house in Luxor West Bank Living and working in Egypt for over twelve years, I fell in love with this country from day one. I wanted to create the place in Luxor that I would have liked to find there: an authentic, ecological place deeply rooted in the local culture. This place is the El Beit Ecolodge, "the house" in Arabic. Built of mud brick, without cement, with palm beams and a natural hiba plaster, it combines traditional Egyptian architecture and sustainable design inspired by the great architect Hassan Fathy, famous for his village of Gournah, recently restored by UNESCO. 🌿 An eco-friendly and comfortable home The ecolodge was designed according to the principles of Egyptian vernacular architecture, which promotes natural ventilation and thermal comfort without artificial air conditioning. A corridor ventilates the house, while the mashrabiyas and mosquito nets at the windows ensure freshness and privacy. Guests have two bedrooms: A master bedroom with canopy bed (160 cm), A second with two single beds (100 cm), both equipped with handmade cabinets and bedside tables. ☀️ A peaceful setting between desert and valley Located on the West Bank of Luxor, the quietest and most authentic part of the city, the house offers stunning views of the Theban mountains. From the terrace you can admire the temples, the Valley of the Kings and the sunsets over the desert. The large garden shaded by trees and flowers is rare in Luxor. It creates a healthy, peaceful and environmentally friendly atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after your visits or working remotely thanks to high-speed wifi. 🍃 Living spaces and amenities In the living room, a library, CDs and a stereo are at your disposal. A large wooden table will allow you to eat as well as telework in peace. You will also find: a large bathroom with shower and separate toilet, a washing machine, a drying rack, an iron, a large equipped kitchen (kettle, toaster, blender, induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge), and even an outdoor stove, for the pleasure of preparing your meals outdoors. An inner courtyard adorned with bougainvillea and palm furniture invites you to relax and enjoy starry evenings. 🌍 An eco-responsible and human experience Staying in El Beit means choosing an authentic experience that respects nature and local culture. The house was built by hand, with natural materials, by fairly paid Egyptian artisans. Nestled between desert and countryside, it offers direct contact with nature and a rare immersion in traditional Egyptian life. We take care of cleanliness and comfort, while respecting the spirit of the place. Due to the desert climate, dust or a few insects may occasionally appear: they are part of the natural rhythm of life in Luxor, and we make sure that they never disturb your comfort. Guest access The entire house and garden are at your disposal. The garden is lit as well as the exteriors of the house facing the street. Linens and towels are provided and the spaces will be cleaned before your arrival. Please don't hesitate to let me know if there is any other way I can assist you in this matter. Other things to note You will find all the local shops: restaurant and grocery store 50 m away Bakery, pharmacy 500 meters from the ecolodge. 200m crossing by motor boat to the east bank of Luxor. They can take you directly to Luxor Temple or Karnak Temple. On the east bank you will also find the museum, the souk, the corniche and restaurants. The temple of louxor located on the east bank is 19 km away by car and the temple of Karnak 16 km. The museum is 18 km away. Ramla with all its restaurants is 3.5 km away. For excursions: The Valley of the Kings - 9 km The Valley of the Queens - 7 km Deir el medineh - 7 km Ramasseum - 7 km Medinet habou: 6 km Hatshepsut Temple: 8 km Airport: 22 km Train Station: 19 km Bus Station, Gobus and Bluebus: 19 km We can arrange for you upon request, transfers to come to the ecolodge and leave. Visits to the various sites with a guide (all nationalities) and registered and insured company cars with perfectly maintained cars. Transfers to the different cities of Egypt: Aswan, Abu Simbel, Hurghada, Cairo, Marsa Alam, Denderah, Abydos, always with driver companies insured, declared and with vehicles in perfect condition and police statements made when necessary. We can organize balloon flights, horse or donkey rides, felouque rides, dinners at home or in a felucca or a motorboat at sunset but also delivery of meals at home. For meals in a local's home, it's Asmaa, a mother of five who will cook for you and accompany you for a meal with her family and can also offer you a home delivery of your meals. By making this choice, you can help a young woman work and gain self-sufficiency. This will also allow you to experience life in an Egyptian village.
