Transfers, breakfasts, meals and excursions available on request for an unforgettable and simplified Egyptian stay. The space 🏡 El Beit Eco-lodge – Traditional Egyptian house inspired by Hassan Fathy in Luxor West Bank Living and working in Egypt for more than twelve years, I fell in love with this country from the first day. I wanted to create in Luxor the place I would have liked to find there: an authentic, ecological place deeply rooted in the local culture. This place is the El Beit Ecolodge, “the house” in Arabic. Built in raw earth brick, without cement, with palm beams and a natural hiba plaster, it combines traditional Egyptian architecture and sustainable design inspired by the great architect Hassan Fathy, famous for his village of Gournah, recently restored by UNESCO. 🌿 An ecological and comfortable house The ecolodge was designed according to the principles of Egyptian vernacular architecture, which promotes natural ventilation and thermal comfort without artificial air conditioning. A cross corridor ventilates the house, while the moucharabiehs and mosquito nets on the windows ensure coolness and privacy. You will have two bedrooms: A master bedroom with a four-poster bed (160 cm), A second with two single beds (100 cm), both equipped with handcrafted cabinets and bedside tables. ☀️ A peaceful setting between desert and valley Located on the West Bank of Luxor, the quietest and most authentic part of the city, the house offers breathtaking views of the Theban mountain. From the terrace, you can admire the temples, the Valley of the Kings and the sunsets over the desert. The large garden, shaded by trees and flowers, is rare in Luxor. It creates a healthy, peaceful and environmentally friendly atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after your visits or working remotely thanks to high-speed Wi-Fi. Living 🍃 spaces and facilities In the living room, a bookcase, CDs and a hi-fi system are at your disposal. A large wooden table will allow you to eat as well as work remotely in peace. You can also find: a large bathroom with shower and separate toilet, a washing machine, a clothes rack, an iron, a large equipped kitchen (kettle, toaster, blender, induction hob, oven, microwave, refrigerator), and even an outdoor cooker, for the pleasure of preparing your meals in the open air. An inner courtyard adorned with bougainvillea and palm furniture invites you to relax and enjoy starry evenings. 🌍 An eco-responsible and human experience Staying in El Beit means choosing an authentic experience, respectful of nature and local culture. The house was built by hand, with natural materials, by Egyptian artisans who were paid fairly. Nestled between desert and countryside, it offers direct contact with nature and a rare immersion in traditional Egyptian life. We take great care to ensure cleanliness and comfort, while respecting the spirit of the place. Due to the desert climate, dust or a few insects may occasionally make an appearance: they are part of the natural rhythm of life in Luxor, and we make sure that they never disturb your comfort. Guest access The entire house and garden are at your disposal. The garden is lit as well as the exteriors of the house facing the street. Linens and towels are provided and the spaces will be cleaned before your arrival. Please don't hesitate to let me know if there is any other way I can assist you in this matter. Other things to note You will find all the local shops: restaurants 200 m behind the house but also grocery stores, bakery, pharmacy etc .... 500 metres from the ecolodge. 200m crossing by motor boat to the east bank of Luxor.
