Bird Island Bothy
Bird Island Bothy
Description
Wake with the rising sun, shrill calls of the wading birds, and waves breaking on the shore only meters away. The wild shore and vegetation provide a great habitat for birds, mammals, insects and spiders typical of the Irish coast. Wading birds can be seen feeding along the undisturbed shore. Bird Island Bothy has the feel of a sailing ship's cabin with chunky wooden beams, mock four-poster bed and plush velvet curtains. A great base from which to explore the Ards Peninsula. The space The bothy is compact, approximately 14.5 meters square. From the road, access is via a shared laneway, about 30m long, with double gates at both ends. Beyond the gates is a gravel yard with parking. The path is then on foot along a rough lawn path across a semi-tame garden to the the bothy.
