Our 1974 tiny cozy cabin is a convenient and peaceful stay. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 10 minutes away. Unplug, recharge, and make lasting memories. Book now! The space Our charming tiny cabin retreat is nestled amidst towering pines 🌲 and oaks. Perfect for couples, small families, and furry friends, our dog-friendly cabin 🐶 offers a peaceful escape with a wonderful long view of a serene meadow and creek. This is a rural location and cell phone service does not work for most travelers unless you're using US Cellular. We have Starlink internet that will connect you right away to internet however! If you're needing cellular connectivity, please know that you may have very limited, spotty service up arrival. We're just 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway! Also if you're planning to go to a VA Tech Hokies game, we're just a little over an hour away! 🦃 The Cabin: Our tiny cozy cabin is 750 square feet and thoughtfully designed to provide all the comforts of home. It features warm décor, with new furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen for your cooking needs. Sleeping arrangements: On the main level, a bedroom with new memory foam queen bed and a TV, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Up the loft steps, a twin bed is located in the "Eagles landing"🦅, with a new memory foam double bed in the bedroom. Please know that the stairs are quite steep and were not designed with railing. We recommend exercising caution when using them, especially for guests with mobility concerns, young children, or those who may be less sure-footed. Your safety and comfort are important to us, so please take care when choosing your sleeping arrangements. Also, with the loft area, please know that it could be challenging for someone that may be taller than average (5'10"+) There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs, located off the kitchen. NEW full size washer just installed! You'll find bath towels and smaller towels specifically for drying off after a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We've stocked quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as some basic toiletries in case a guest forgets to bring an item. In the living room, the 55" TV streams Netflix, Hulu or any app on the Roku TV (you will need your own log in). The internet is provided by Starlink and is high speed! The queen bedroom also has a Roku TV, and a selection of board games, cards, and some children's activities are available below the TV. Outdoor Amenities: Relax in the hot tub while watching the local wildlife in the meadow. Enjoy our spacious fire pit area🔥, complete with Adirondack chairs with a grill grate—perfect for evening s'mores or grilling under the stars. Lounge in the double hammock, or challenge your friends to a friendly game of cornhole. We also provide extra camp chairs that you may take down to the creek. When exploring the field and creek area please look at boundary map in our pictures for property lines to respect our neighbors. The property is more long than it is wide. Deer, turkey, rabbits and hawks are spotted daily, and our neighbors report occasional bear sightings. 🐻🐇🦃🦅🦌 Firewood: For your convenience, we provide 6-8 pieces of firewood for your use during your stay. If you require additional firewood, we kindly ask that you bring your own or contact us. We offer the option to use more firewood for a small donation. Just let us know, and we'll be happy to accommodate your needs. Local activities: There are a multitude of local options for hiking, biking, and sight seeing. Along with the many beautiful scenic routes and music events, the famous town of Mayberry sits right below the blue ridge parkway 35 minutes from our cozy cabin. This historic town features a tour around the town in an Andy Griffith cop car and many shops downtown. Looking for wine or local beer 🍺? There are 12 wineries🍷, 4 breweries/cideries/Meaderies , and 1 distillery located anywhere from 10- 40 minutes from the cabin. There are great restaurants in Hillsville, Galaxy, and Fancy Gap. We love the Mason Jar in town. Or are you looking for more unique places to visit? Take a drive to The Puckett Cabin - historic milepost 190 on the Blueridge Parkway or Fancy Gap Pottery and Fabric Outlet (15 min drive). Looking for an authentic German dinner show? Head out to Wohlfahrt Haus dinner Show in Wytheville, VA (25 min). We are in the perfect location to access many unique areas in Virginia and North Carolina. Guidelines for your dog(s):🐶🐕🐕‍🦺 We welcome up to two dogs and have no breed restrictions. There is a pet fee, so please ensure you include a pet to your booking if you plan to bring yours. For the safety of your furry friends and out of respect for our neighbors, we recommend that dogs remain leashed while outside. Please pick up after your pet to keep the property nice for all guests. We encourage to not leave your pet on the property unattended. Dogs need to be crated if left. Make sure you have access to your vaccine records and be prepared to show them if requested. ❗We ask that dogs not to sleep on bed linens in the cabin. If you plan for your pet to sleep in the bed, please contact us about bringing your own bed linens to avoid extra fees.❗ We absolutely love dogs and we have to put policies in place to keep all human and animals safe and comfortable while on the property. During Winter Travel ❄️❄️Travel Advisory ❄️❄️ We recommend all guests to purchase travel insurance in case you are unable to make your reserved dates. All access roads to the cabin are paved, however, the hills can be relatively steep and slippery during inclement weather - 4WD 🚙 is highly recommended only for this reason. The state takes care of all primary roads first. We do not offer refunds of a cancellation period for any reason including weather or lack of internet(Starlink). Normal check in time is 3:30pm and check out time is 10:00am. We are happy to to provide an early check in/ late check out but please message before booking— additional fees apply. Please be mindful of staying on the gravel driveway. You can use the sliding glass door entrance after you have been inside. You will have access to the cabin, the 2+ acre downhill and the small creek down by the bottom! Please stay on our property and do not enter into neighboring properties. Although Michelle is very friendly 😃 If you're looking down the hill towards the creek, our property crosses onto the other side of the creek and there is an abandoned road you can walk.. If you have questions about the property lines, reference the pictures provided in the listing or feel free to ask. We like to walk down that road for a nature walk. Other things to note **🐾Please - PETS ARE NOT TO SLEEP IN THE BEDS unless you bring your own linens🐾** We recommend you to purchase travel insurance if you feel you may need to cancel or change dates or for any unforeseen reasons (natural disasters, hurricanes etc.) We do not offer refunds, date changes, or cancellations for any reason after booking. We do have many board games ! Linens, towels, dish towels, comforters are all provided! 🐾We ask that your pet NOT sleep in the bed(s)🐾. If your pet must sleep in the bed with you, we require you to bring your own linens/sheets or you could be charged additional cleaning fees. We provide you with a starter set of hand soap, toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. We do not provide laundry detergent. The washer and dryer are older and drying clothing/towels can take a little while so please be patient. We'll be getting new equipment soon. We have a Keurig and provide some K cups, sugar, and seasonal creamers. We also provide salt, pepper, aluminum foil, parchment paper, and cooking oil! ❗Please be mindful to put the hot tub cover back on when not in use.❗ Cheers!
