Tucked away in lush subtropical gardens, The Cottage is a lovingly restored dairy bails set on a 50 acre farm in the hills of the Byron Bay hinterland. With its own private swimming hole and surrounded by birdsong and native wildlife, this tranquil hideaway is perfect for those seeking rest, reconnection, and nature. Located just 10 minutes from The Channon and Nimbin, and 20 minutes to Lismore, the cottage is a perfect base for exploring the region’s markets, waterfalls and rainforest trails. The space Vintage Green is a picturesque 50 acre farm with fruit orchards and established subtropical gardens to explore. A short walk to the bottom of the property brings you to a spring fed creek with a natural swimming hole to enjoy on the hotter days. The Cottage is a perfect setting for those wishing to relax and unwind, whether that be in front of the cozy indoor fireplace, outside at the firepit under the stars, or relaxing in the outdoor clawfoot bath. The Cottage is ideal for couples looking for a romantic escape, or small groups of up to 7 people (see note below), with a rustic camp kitchen area available for use for groups. A sun drenched north facing verandah is the ideal spot for an afternoon sundowner, accessed from french doors off the lounge room. In the cottage there are 2 large queen bedrooms, and a smaller single bedroom equipped with ceiling fans and plenty of storage ensure a comfortable stay. A large main bathroom is stocked with eco-friendly toiletries, with a convenient second toilet and laundry. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and pantry items, a 2 burner induction cooktop, fridge, microwave, benchtop oven / airfryer, and coffee machine. BBQ and outside firepit with grill plate if you'd prefer to cook outside in the beautiful garden. Firewood is supplied in the cooler months for the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. NOTE: We also have a renovated vintage caravan 'Olive' which comfortably sleeps 2 people in a queen size bed. Olive is fully powered with a fridge and is located a short distance from the Cottage, enabling additional guests to utilise the Cottage amenities and camp kitchen / lounge area. Please message for more information and pricing. Guest access Guests have their own private access driveway and a variety of parking options. Beyond the Cottage gardens guests are welcome to wander through the fruit orchards, head down to the creek for a swim or say hello to the horses. A private garden area with firepit is a lovely spot for an afternoon drink. There is also a rustic Camp kitchen and lounge area with a large dining table and BBQ / cooking facilities, and another large fridge. The farm is pet friendly. Please read the Pet Policy Guidelines under House Rules, and ensure you have added a pet to the booking details. Your own vehicle is required to access the property as no public transport is available. Other things to note The Cottage may not be suitable if you have young children. This is a rural property with a creek and swimming hole and snakes and ticks are active at certain times of the year. We have livestock and working dogs on the property. Please use your own discretion as to whether this accommodation would suit your needs if you have young children.
