My home is steps to the ocean and ferry, 1200 square feet of space with high ceilings, a huge living room and dining area, plenty of light, a fully enclosed private west facing deck that gets sun all day long. An outdoor shower, Weber grill, air conditioning, beach chairs, full kitchen, beach towels, linens, utilities included, Verizon Internet, Dish TV , Netflix.OBPis a friendly community that has a grocery store, restaurants/bars, pizza, ice cream, and live music. A Deposit may be requested. It's a great open space you will be very comfortable here. I have 4 bedrooms, 8 beds, 1.5 baths and an outdoor shower. High ceilings w fans, attic fan, and air conditioning in every room. The house also has heat for the fall when it’s colder. There's a Weber grill on the deck for grilling, a large outdoor dining table as well as a large indoor dining table, full kitchen, a huge sectional couch in living room and on deck. There are plenty of beach chairs, a wagon, air conditioners in every room, internet and Dish TV w Netflix. The house has everything you need. I provide towels,beach towels, linens and a full kitchen w utensils. You just need to bring your clothes, bathing suits, toiletries, suntan lotion, shampoo, bug spray and Benadryl itch cooling spray in case the mosquitos bite you. Food is expensive on Fire island so if you plan to cook your own meals I would recommend you bring food from the mainland, but there are also good restaurants in OBP or you can go to Ocean Beach where you will find many more. There is a market, Island Pantry around the corner from my house if you need to buy groceries. It’s on Bay walk and Cayuga the next street east of my street along the bay. Ocean Bay Park is a very friendly, open community. There are fewer regulations here than in Ocean Beach , which make it a favorite for many. A little more off the beaten path, yet accessible to everything you need. Ocean Beach is about a 10-15 minute walk from my house, but you will have everything you need here in Ocean Bay Park. We have a market, a pizza place, ice cream, two restaurants/bars, happy hour with great live music, raffles and Bingo for a bike. There’s parasailing, you can rent bikes across from Schooner Inn. The ocean is a short block away, ferry around the corner. It's a great community. If you go into Ocean Beach for dinner I would recommend the fish Tacos at the Albatross which is a reasonably priced bar/restaurant. For a REALLY delicious but expensive meal go to the Mermaid or Hideaway, but expect to pay $35-40 per entree. In Ocean Bay Park Schooner Inn has a lobster dinner that’s good and they have good chicken wings, crab cakes, mussels, and I like the summer salad all for about $12.00-$20.00. Happy hour and live music is from 5-7 pm. Everything is within walking distance here. There are no cars, only bikes, water taxis and walking. Flynn's and Schooner Inn are right around the corner. The market, Island Pantry is also very nearby just around the corner on Bay-walk and Cayuga. You will be very close to the Ocean and the bay, and you can walk or ride to Ocean Beach, you can rent bikes from across from Schooner Inn. I have a wagon which must always be locked. If it is lost I will have to charge you $400.00 which is what I paid for it. At the end of your stay when you leave please make sure you CLOSE ALL OUTSIDE UMBRELLAS, TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS, FANS AND AIR CONDITIONERS, MAKE SURE YOU BOLT SHUT THE OUTDOOR SHOWER, MAKE SURE WAGON IS LOCKED UP. THEN PLACE KEY BACK IN LOCKBOX FOR THE NEXT PERSON. THANK YOU. IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE HOUSE MANUAL. Subleasing is prohibited!!!! Meaning renting with your family and friends and splitting the cost is fine, but you cannot try to sublease or rent to strangers for more money. If I find out you have subleased my house you will be reported to Airbnb and the authorities. VERY IMPORTANT: Separate recyclables from regular garbage, and place empty bottles and cans loosely in the garbage bins. (not bagged). All other garbage bagged and tied shut. There will be an extra charge of $300. 00 If this is not done properly. Absolutely NO SMOKING in house or anywhere on premises(fire hazard), and no pets. Please don’t swing on the arbor above front entrance gate to the house it will break. Always make sure you shut off the gas tank under the grill when you’re not using it to prevent propane leakage. Please treat my home the way you would treat your own home. I rent it out but it’s not solely a rental house, it’s my home. No major parties in the house please and I’d prefer families or mature friends. Please be aware that my house is in OCEAN BAY PARK not Ocean Beach. I think the map says Ocean Beach this is incorrect. Catch the ferry at Bayshore and make sure you go to the SEAVIEW/OCEAN BAY PARK Terminal NOT the OCEAN BEACH Terminal which is across the street. Usually, but not always, the Seaview/Ocean bay park ferry makes 2 stops. Seaview is usually the first stop, stay on the ferry and the 2nd stop will be Ocean Bay Park. Sometimes there are 2 separate boats. Ask someone on the ferry if you are not sure. When you leave on your last day please strip the beds, turn off all air conditioners , fans, lights, close all outside umbrellas, make sure outside shower door is bolted shut, and put the key back in the lock box. Last but not least, have a great time and a wonderful beach experience. Fire island is a special place for me and I’m sure you’ll love it too.
