Deborah's Cottage at Rainbow Hill Villa is located in the beautiful mountains of Cochrane, Dominica, a traditional Dominican village. It enjoys amazing sunrises and sunsets, cool and comforting year-round breezes, idyllic views of the mountains and surrounding country side. The 1 Bedroom/1 Bathroom cottage was built in late 2019. Deborah's Cottage comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests, either 2 adults and 2 small children, or 3 adults. The space Deborah's Cottage at Rainbow Hill Villa has 1 Bedroom with 1 King Bed, plus 1 Full-size Sofa-Bed, full bathroom and kitchen. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, Deborah's Cottage is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on 19,358 square feet of private, fully gated, flat and beautifully landscaped grounds with coconut trees, avocado trees, bananas, papayas and other lush vegetation. There is excellent cellular phone service from the property and WIFi. Only a 15-18 minute drive to the capital city Roseau and business center, town activities and a host of unspoiled natural attractions, Deborah's Cottage is the perfect place to stay in Dominica. SWIMMING POOL: There is an 8ft x 18ft above ground plunge pool located on the property. Children must be supervised by an adult at times when in or near the pool. Guests are solely responsible for the safety and health of their children, their guests and themselves. VEHICLE PARKING: There is a dedicated parking space directly in front of the Cottage. To access this space, guests will need to manually open and close the gate. Additionally, several more parking spaces are available through the electronic gate, near the Rainbow Hill Villa building. *When parking near the Villa, please park your vehicle facing the fence. This area can comfortably accommodate three or more vehicles. Please note that Villa residents have first priority for parking in front of the Villa, but there is always plenty of parking available for everyone. GETTING THERE: A rental car is strongly recommended. The road to the villa is hilly. There are no shopping/eating places within walking distance. Rainbow Hill Villa Properties is very easy to locate. It is almost a straight drive from Roseau to Canefield, directly off the Edward Oliver Leblanc Hwy/Goodwill Rd, a 15-18-minute drive from Roseau. Or, from the Douglas - Charles Airport in Melville Hall, it's northeast toward Dr Nicholas Liverpool Hwy/Wiers Rd to the Edward Oliver Leblanc Hwy/Goodwill Rd. Detailed directions to the Rainbow Hill Villa - Cottage are provided. Upon request, we can refer you to a taxi/tour driver for pickup service from your arriving airport, ferry terminal or boat dock. Let us know well in advance if pickup service is needed. Guest access Guests are free to use all areas of the Cottage, the yard and gardens, except for locked areas, closets, doors and cabinets. Each guest rental unit has its own patio area, veranda or garden space. The laundry room (behind garage) is a common area (shared). Only one guest group at a time is allowed in the laundry room. The plunge pool, pool deck and lounging areas are also common areas (shared). Other things to note EXTRAS: Our vacation rental homes come well-equipped with extras to make your visit comfortable; extra linens, towels, beach towels, and other basic amenities supplied at no additional cost. There are also fresh herbs and fruit bearing trees like coconut, banana, papaya, avocado, and more, depending on the time of year or season. ELECTRIC OUTLETS: All rental homes at Rainbow Hill Villa Properties are equipped with dual electric outlets, supporting both 110V and 220V. If your devices require a different type of electrical outlet, we recommend bringing your own converter to ensure compatibility. RARE COOL WINTER NIGHTS: It can get a little chilly on rare but occasional evenings, between November and late February. A sweater or shawl might come in handy for cool nights on the patio or verandah. While located only a few minutes from the capital city of Roseau (15 min +/-), our mountain top location offers unique advantages, being up to 2° to 6° (+/-) degrees cooler than many lower areas in Dominica. You will also enjoy constant cooling sea breezes and shaded areas throughout the year. VISITS BY NEIGHBORHOOD PET: We want to inform guests about a friendly neighborhood dog named Maxx who occasionally visits the Rainbow Hill Villa property. Maxx is a nine-month-old German Shepherd mix, weighing under thirty-five (35) pounds, with a black coat and distinctive white coloring around his nose and mouth, and on his legs. He belongs to the Villa's property owner, who lives nearby. Although Maxx is not permitted to leave his owner's property, this inquisitive and intelligent puppy sometimes finds a way to visit his neighbors, including guests at Rainbow Hill Villa. Maxx is a friendly dog and has shown a good temperament around people. While guests may or may not encounter Maxx during their stay, we believe it is important to inform our guests about potential occurrences--- for their awareness and peace of mind. BORROWED VEHICLE PROGRAM (Daily Fee for Service): Interested in driving while you are in Dominica? We have a special program that might be of interest to you during your stay at Rainbow Hill Villa Properties. The Property Owner of Rainbow Hill Villa Properties occasionally allows select guests, who are in good standing with Airbnb (with a rating of 4.3 Stars or higher) to borrow one of her personal vehicles at the Villa. The vehicle available through this program is a 2011 Toyota Voxy, which is a comfortable 7-passenger minivan. Please note that we do not rent vehicles. However, at our sole discretion, we sometimes allow the 2011 Toyota Voxy to be contracted to guests through a personal vehicle loan agreement. This agreement would involve the payment of a small security deposit and a daily vehicle use fee. This program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We would be happy to send you photos of the vehicle, and a sample contract that outlines all the specific details, fees, and costs associated with the program.
