Situated in the heart of the leafy suburb of Karen; this spacious three-bedroom house is perfect for couples, families and close friends. The property is located less than 1.5km from the Hub Mall and only 2km from the Karen centre. The space The Gable House is the perfect space for those looking for a home away from home. All the necessary amenities have been included to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The incredibly spacious master bedroom features a comfortable king-size bed; whilst a smaller adjoining side bedroom has two single beds making it an ideal combination for parents and their children. The twin beds can also be set up as a double (this should be requested for in advance). The main bedroom opens onto a small sunny upstairs balcony and is surrounded by trees. An ensuite, upstairs bathroom has a bath with a shower, sink and toilet. Handmade shampoo, conditioner, body wash are provided as well as toilet paper and towels. A walk-in wardrobe allows for plenty of storage, shelf and hanging space - useful for those who wish to unpack and settle in for longer-term stays. There is a dedicated work space in the master bedroom which overlooks the garden. WiFi is included. A very small downstairs bedroom has a single bed- handy for an older child, nanny or a guest with limited mobility. The downstairs bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower. The downstairs lounge area is a great place to chill out and watch t.v (Netflix is included), read a book or play a board game. A large desk provides a second dedicated workspace. On cold evenings you can light the Morsø wood-fired stove as you enjoy a cosy night in. The open-plan kitchen is well stocked with utensils, crockery, cutlery, fridge, gas hob and gas oven, microwave, blender, kettle and toaster. 10 litres of drinking water as well as some tea bags, coffee, sugar, milk, salt, pepper and fresh cut flowers are provided for your arrival. Drinking water can be refilled as often as required. The downstairs patio area has a lounge area and a dining table with two long benches; perfect for meals with the family or friends. An outdoor clay fireplace can be lit in the evening upon request (please bring some firewood with you). The house is contained within it's own fenced garden which is home to lots of birds, squirrels and sometimes monkeys. It also has a small fish pond. Guest access Guests will have full access to this private space. Car parking (covered) is provided on site just a few meters walk from the cottage. The house has a steep staircase which may not be ideal for very young children or guests with limited mobility. Young children must be supervised at all times, due to the pond, staircase and upstairs balcony. Other things to note We live on a shared family property and our house rules are very important to us. Please ensure you have read and understood them before booking. When calling us, please use a regular line as other phone app calls tend not to ring through. Four dogs, a few cats, chickens, tortoises, rabbits and turkeys live on the property. Please be aware that many of the animals wander around freely. No extra guests may visit the property under any circumstances (unless agreed to in advance). A house-keeper is available to clean the cottage after three nights (she may not be available on Sundays and Public holidays). If you'd like the house cleaned every day this can be arranged for ($5 ~1.5 hours of cleaning) Your bed linens and towels will be changed on a weekly basis (after 6 nights). Fresh towels can be requested for during your stay at an extra fee. Washing can be arranged at an extra cost of $5 per load (you would need to dry and fold your clothes) Whilst this is generally a very quiet neighbourhood, sometimes there is a potential to hear music/noise from outside of our property. Unfortunately this is beyond our control if it occurs during your stay. There is a large trampoline and a couple of slides that guest's kids are welcome to use at your own risk. We run a small playgroup on the property during term time. Please do not let kids enter the little schoolhouse. We love all of the animals that live in our garden - birds, bushbabies, hyrax, bats, squirrels, frogs etc all come and go. Squirrels take up residence in the roof at certain times of the year, so whilst they don't come into the house itself you may hear them scurrying around at night!
