Popular hiking destinations are the Geyerlay suspension rope bridge in Mörsdorf (26 km), the many dream loops (certified hiking trails), such as Baybachtal, Ehrbachklamm (approx. 50 dream loops between 5 and 50 km away), the castles on the Rhine (Bacharach and Oberwesel 17 km) and Moselle (Brodenbach 35 km, Alken 40 km, Cochem 45 km), Koblenz, Mainz, Trier. But there are also many activities in the immediate vicinity. Extensive bike tours, jogging routes and forest walks are possible directly from the front door (forest edge 5 minutes' walk). The dreamlike, enchanting Soonwald, a long mountain ridge up to 650 meters high, with a very old, natural forest is very close (access e.g. in Ellern, 4 km away) and also offers beautiful refreshment stops, e.g. the Emmerichsthütte, the Lauschhütte, the Forsthaus Heiligkreuz or the beautifully located Schweizerhaus (please always check opening hours first). The Rheinböllen swimming pool (4 km away) is rightly considered one of the most beautiful "smaller" pools in Rhineland-Palatinate and is very popular with children, among other things, and also unbeatably cheap. The Landhaus Nussbaum is located in the center of the small Hunsrück village of Mörschbach (about 300 inhabitants), right next to the local church, which is demonstrably the oldest religious building in the Hunsrück, with a Gothic bell tower built in 1373 (which can also be heard well in some bedrooms). Supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies and doctors are located in Rheinböllen (4 km) and Simmern (9 km)
