The cabin features heated floors, a walk-in shower, and a laundry center for added comfort and convenience during your stay. You’ll also have a fully equipped kitchen, dining space, and a relaxing living area — everything you need to settle in and unwind. A short walk from the cabin, the separate Soakin' Salmon Spa House is reserved exclusively for your stay. Unwind in your private hot tub, relax in the cedar sauna, and enjoy a dedicated spa experience rarely found at a cabin rental. Whether you're soaking under the midnight sun or warming up after a day exploring Alaska, it's the perfect place to recharge. We’re located close to the Northshore entrance of Big Lake, making it easy to enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, or snowmachining depending on the season. A grocery store, gas station, and local restaurants are only a few miles away for your convenience. Guests often tell us they love how peaceful and private it feels while still being close to everything they need. We live on the property if you need assistance or local recommendations, but your space remains entirely your own to enjoy. Guest access Guests have full, private access to both the Cozy Cub Cabin and the separate Soakin' Salmon Spa House during their stay. The spa house, which includes the hot tub and cedar sauna, is reserved exclusively for you and never shared with anyone else. You'll also have use of the entire cabin, including the fully equipped kitchen, laundry center, walk-in shower, and heated floors—perfect for warming up after a day outdoors. Parking is available on-site with easy access to both the cabin and spa house. The property layout allows you to enjoy your stay privately while knowing we're nearby if you need assistance or local recommendations. Other things to note We keep things simple and comfortable so you can focus on enjoying your time at Big Lake. You’ll receive your personal door code on the day of check-in for easy self-entry — no need to coordinate arrival times. The cabin and spa house were built by hand and have their own personalities, so a few little quirks come with the charm — things like natural wood variations, cozy lighting, and that classic Alaskan cabin feel. You may see us or our neighbor Dave around the property tending to daily upkeep, snow removal, or maintenance between guest stays. We’ll always respect your privacy and schedule any work around guest comfort. The Soakin’ Salmon Spa House (with hot tub and sauna) is available for your private use daily from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. This helps keep the experience relaxing for everyone and allows for proper maintenance and quiet evenings. Big Lake is wonderfully peaceful but very Alaskan — moose, ravens, and the occasional fox like to wander through, so please drive slowly and keep food securely stored. If you’re visiting in winter, be aware that snow and ice can build up quickly. We do our best to keep walkways clear, but warm layers and good boots are your best friends here.
