Nestled in a secluded corner of Burntstick Lake Resort, our 6-meter wide geodome offers a truly unique & immersive experience for those seeking a memorable getaway. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the cozy embrace of our one-room haven. The queen bed, adorned with plush linens and soft pillows, promises a restful night's sleep while the gentle sounds of the wilderness serenade you. Natural light floods the space through a stunning picture window that spans one-third of the dome's curvature, allowing you to wake up to breathtaking views of Burntstick Lake. Guest access The entirety of the Woodland Retreat Geodome Site, including the dome and the campfire/cooking area is yours to access. You also have access to all the public use areas of the the Burntstick Lake Resort property (beach, boat launch, dock, playground, well/pump, outhouses, trails, green spaces, etc.) Other things to note OFF GRID - UNPLUG TO RECONNECT: We are entirely off grid at BLR. No electricity or power, no running water, and very limited cell reception! We’ve intentionally maintained the off grid experience out here, even as the world has moved into the tech age. We believe in intentionally unplugging from the world in order to reconnect with yourself, nature, and loved ones. We might not have a flush toilet or shower to offer, but we promise that by getting off grid you’ll make memories that will last a lifetime. FIREWOOD & FIRE-BANS: We provide roughly 8-12 piece of firewood per night during your stay. If you’re a major firebug you’re welcome to bring additional wood! We monitor the fire-bans very closely and will notify you of any active bans prior to your stay. If you wish to look yourself prior to your trip, we are located in Clearwater County. In the event of a fire-ban, we provide alternative propane fire pits which are usable during fire and to toast your marshmallows. THE CAMPGROUND: Burntstick Lake Resort is also a year round campground with annual site rentals - meaning that all our campers have yearly sites and return weekend after weekend all year. This gives folks a sense of accountability & responsibility to the resort. We strive to be a safe, friendly & welcoming community, & we ask that you keep this in mind through your actions as well. Many of our campers have held their sites for several years & are very familiar with the lay of the land; feel free to say hi & ask for recommendations on what to do while you're out at BLR! They have no shortage of amazing suggestions! CELL RECEPTION: Please note that cell reception can be spotty in some areas of BLR! There is a cell booster at the cabin, so just swing by there with your phone if you need to send a text or make a call & you're having trouble. WHAT TO PACK & WHAT WE PROVIDE: You can find a recommended packing list on our website, along with a detailed breakdown of what supplies you'll find in the geodome ACCESSIBILITY: There is a short (1 min) walk down a gravel path from where you park to the Geodomes. Please note there is also a hill/slope here, so wear appropriate footwear and be prepared to carry your stuff in! If you have any accessibility concerns/requests please message us in advance of your arrival so we can plan to have an ATV available to give you a hand with your belongings and such.
