The landmark home is a tastefully appointed historic sandstone cottage located in walking distance to the heart of Katoomba and surrounding World Heritage sights. The cottage is self-contained and has 3 bedrooms sleeping 2 - 8 persons, with all linen provided and beds made up. There are two separate living areas and a large fully equipped kitchen. The main living room is heated by a slow-combustion fireplace, which is set and ready to light, and each booking comes with a fully stacked woodstore, including fire-starters, kindling and hardwood firewood. One bathroom has a generous walk-in shower, skylight, original sandstone wall and underfloor heating. It also has a discrete laundry with a washer/dryer built-in. The second bathroom is for soaking in a large claw-foot bathtub and again features an original sandstone wall and under-floor heating. Brigadoon pairs old-fashioned mountain charm with modern day convenience and is perfectly suited to couples as well as family groups - children love returning to the magic of the home and locally admired garden. The morning sun is glorious on the front porch, where you can have your tea or coffee overlooking the flower-filled garden and bush backdrop, where native birds feast on red and white waratahs in spring. The courtyard garden has a gas barbeque and an outdoor table setting, with shade provided by large maples and azalea hedges. Brigadoon is just a short 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive from Katoomba town centre. You can discover the stunning views of the Three Sisters and explore Katoomba Street with its fabulous cafes and art galleries and shops. To get a sense of the grandeur of this area, you can explore the Grand Clifftop Walk and take in the awesome valley views or descend into the sub-tropical rainforest at the nearby Scenic Railway.
