Description

We are a mountain retreat located on the ridges of the Coastal range on the Pacific south west of Costa Rica. Our sustainable way of life is based on bioagriculture, solar energie, reforestation, arts&crafts, horses & holistic health practices, which you can partake on. Adjacent to the biological corredor "El Paso de la Danta" (The Path of the Tapir) For the more adventurous, there are nature tours through the tropical forest, hike to the different waterfalls and natural swimming pools. The space Margas and Chemas home is a large elegant, two storied round building with a geodesic dome on top for holistic exercises. A large living room with a fire place. Private bathroom in every bedroom. The dinning room and living room have a view to the forest and ocean from 1000 mts above sea level. No grid connection, solar panels and candles. The spring of fresh water is in the property. With over 25 years experience in sustainable practices. A large biological farm with organic gardens and fruit trees. Caters to naturalists, holistic health groups, artists, mystics and clases are given in sustainable practices. Property is adjacent to the Biological Corridor "El Paso de la Danta" A rural foot path to the beach, 12 kms and the National Marine Park Marino Ballena, where twice a year the humpback whales migrate. Also, there is a large variety of dolphins which make their home in these waters. Many cascading rivers in the area where to swim, sorounded by tropical forests and spectacular views. So, what is a sustainable way of life? It is a friendly relationship with nature, where the "cost of living" is directly related to minimicing environmental impact and a true economy based in frugality, recycling, craftsmanship, growing your own food and avoiding consumerism. It is important that you know that we are not a business, it is just our way of life and you share our home and way of life with us. Breakfast is included, other meals are available with an additional cost. Please let us know ahead of time. It is possible to hire a naturalist guide. All these services are payed in cash. There is a daily public bus service, except Sundays, to a nearby village, 3 kms. Taxi is also available. One can also participate in the voluntary hands-on sustainable practices, which are Margas and Chemas way of life. Such as gardening, reforestation and horse care. For more than 2 persons, please contact us for special prices. The whole villa is also available, it has capacity up to 20 people You can also see availability of rooms 3 - 4 on the following link, http://airbnb.com/rooms/257356 Or room 5 - http://airbnb.com/rooms/290050 Guest access To the farm, the forest and the nearby natural swimming pools and waterfalls, also there is a regular swimming pool with a restaurant about 1 km down the road During your stay Guests become part of the family, we are early to bed and early to rise Other things to note Please call when you are in Costa Rica and on your way here so as to help you with directions If you come by car, make sure it is a 4X4 and to arrive before 6:00 pm due to the remoteness of our place
