Vanich House : Mechanic's Room

Secluded part of 'Vanich House' compound nestled in Soi Wanit 2 in the creative district of Taladnoi/Charoenkrung/Songwat, 10 mins walk from MRT Hua Lamphong Station and Yaowaraj Road, next to the riverside Taladnoi Museum with a glimpse of the sunset-lit Chaophraya River view from the room, A peaceful local stay. Once a mezzanine where mechanics in our family’s decade old machinery stay. The 45 sq.m. Mechanic’s room recreates a cozy and utilitarian design in a warm wood and metal mood. The space Vanich House compound is once our family’s decade old machinery. We renovated the place by maintaining the spirit as much as possible, through keeping the existing space and the structure, reusing and relocating the material while inviting natural light and ventilation into the whole compound. The compound consists of our home, ‘Vanich House’ : a cafe’ and a selected shop, ‘Physicalist’ : our architectural and interior design studio and ‘The Mechanic’s Room’ : our one room hotel. Guest access You will have a private access to the room via private staircase which is accessible 24/7. Vanich House cafe’ is open Thursday to Tuesday, 10.30-17.30 (The coffee and tea is great, by the way). Its entrance and area is completely separated.
