Until 2014, the US Army had a base nearby, but since the Americans withdrew, the neighborhood has changed significantly - new residential areas are being built, the infrastructure is improving, and many new restaurants and shops are opening. The magnificent old town of Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993, can be easily reached by bus, bicycle or car in just a few minutes. The train station is halfway to the city center and is just a 15-minute walk away. The A70 and A73 motorways are also just a few minutes away by car.
