Hi there! My name is Janice and I bought this charming little 1943 bungalow in west La Mesa a few years ago to use as a primary residences that has now transitioned to a short term rental. This location is close to public transit (bus and trolley), 10 miles from the San Diego Zoo, 15 miles from the beach, and 10 miles from Little Italy, and the Convention Center. The accessible space for guests includes 2 bedrooms, a bath, a living room, kitchen, dishwasher, washer & dryer. The house maintains the original mid-century architectural style and feel, including original hardwood floors, but has a modern kitchen and bath. I have had no pets or smoking in this house so should provide a low risk of allergy issues. Wifi speed is over 90 Mbps download and so great for video streaming, and you can enjoy a new 49" smart TV with external speakers. There is also an electric keyboard and guitar for those inclined to play or just tinker! There is a comfortable queen size bed in the master bedroom, an amour with drawers, a suitcase stand, and a closet to hang clothes. The second bedroom has a comfortable twin size mattress, as well as closet space to hang clothes. The bathroom is small, with not a lot of counter space and the fan should be used when taking a shower to prevent the smoke alarm from being triggered. You will find a beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach towels, for your convenience. There is an iron available if needed. The landscape was converted from a traditional lawn and concrete space to a natural setting of mosaic style paths comprised of repurposed concrete that lead you through many fruit trees including an avocado, mango, mulberry and papaya to name a few. There is a lovely outdoor patio with a pergola made from repurposed wood and a shade sail that is lined with solar LED lights for you to enjoy the tropical garden of banana, mango and grapes to name a few. Bringing pets, having extra guest spend the night, and having parties are not allowed and not part of this agreement, there is a penalty of $50 per person/pet per night is in place if this is not followed. The space is too small and has too many potential, unstable climbing walls for children so, unless your child is not mobile, I'm afraid it's just not safe for children that can walk or crawl. This is a small house in a quiet neighborhood consisting of mostly retired people and so is not suited for parties. This listing is for traveling people that need a quiet, comfortable stay with a well stocked kitchen. I have many fruit trees that you are welcome to enjoy if the fruit is ripe and I encourage birds and butterflies for a peaceful environment. Smoking of any kind is also not allowed and not part of this agreement. I will mostly be out of town while the house is available but have neighbors who are available to assist. I live in a community made up of older houses, welcoming and mostly retired neighbors, and is far enough from the city to be quiet but close enough for an easy drive to many fun possibilities. Traditional and ethnic supermarkets and gas stations are within 10 minutes drive, a few restaurants and coffee shops are walking distance. The airport is a 20 minutes’ drive, a rideshare will cost is approx. $20-$25. There is space for two cars in the driveway for parking. There are trolley and bus option close by, the train to go up the coast is 20 minutes west. This home accommodates 3 people comfortably with a maximum of four guests. Any guests beyond four will be charged a penalty of $50 per person per night. I reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy.
