Westfir Adventure Bungalow

This newly-updated historic Westfir home sits at the base of the world-class Alpine mtb trail and across the street from the historic Office Covered Bridge and Portal Park. Catch a mtb shuttle across the street, pedal world class trails right out the front door or enjoy amazing fishing, endless swimming holes, and miles of hiking/running trails. The home is conveniently located 7min from Oakridge. Enjoy your stay in the mtb capitol of the PNW! The space INSIDE: The house is about 1,000 sq ft. There is one bedroom with a queen bed and walk-in closet and another smaller room with a twin daybed that easily converts into a queen. There is also a dedicated workspace for the remote worker (ethernet connection available, speeds up to 200-300+mbps). The kitchen should have everything you need and is well situated for entertaining and stocked with most of the essentials. Full laundry room featuring new LG stack washer dryer, wall heaters and AC! OUTSIDE: This tranquil house rests on a quiet street on a quarter acre and is surrounded by flowers and trees and 360* mountain views. We have a secure shed in the backyard you will have access to, in case you would like to lock your adventure gear. The front yard area is fully fenced. We ask that you please park in the front of the house (space for about 4 cars). Please Note (as of Summer 2025): we are currently revamping the outdoor landscaping. There is plenty of grass on the west and north sides of the property, but other areas may be dirt as we work on renovating and beautifying this space. See pictures in listing. LOCATION: Central location with a quick walk/ride to the famous Alpine trail, the historic Office Covered Bridge, Westfir Lodge, and North Fork trail (featuring some amazing swimming holes). If you plan on taking advantage of the mountain bike shuttles, the pickup location is literally right outside the front door. For those that are into road or gravel cycling, we are located at the start of the Aufderheide Scenic Byway, with many gravel forest roads offering endless route options. This area is also ideal for fishing, trail running and hiking, the list could go on. After a long day of adventuring, you are near many amazing swimming holes. ⚲ <1 min walk/ride to Portal Park ⚲ 7 min drive to Oakridge (great restaurants, grocery store, coffee shops) ⚲ 40 min drive to Eugene ⚲ 50 min drive to Eugene airport ⚲ 35 min drive to Willamette Pass (skiing, hiking, lakes, PCT trail) ⚲ 1.5 hour drive to Crater Lake National Park (North entrance) Guest access You will have access to the full house, as well as the front and back yards. Please treat it with respect. The front yard is fully fenced (3ft high picket fence) for your furry friends. The backyard is partially fenced, but open to the parking area. We will send you a code for the doors prior to your arrival. Other things to note This area is somewhat remote (which also makes it so special). Cell reception is spotty but we have a strong WiFi connection. Please check the local restaurant hours and bring food/supplies accordingly. We have some great recommendations for coffee shops, restaurants and grocery stores in our guidebook, all within a 10min drive from the house. There is also a small market directly across from the house with limited service hours. We do have a TV on the property (hence why it is listed as an amenity). However, it is stored in the closet of the main bedroom and can be easily taken out and plugged in for use. You will need your own logins for any streaming services. Pets are welcome! We have a collapsible canvas crate (located in the shed) you are welcome to use for them. Please keep yourself informed of local weather and fire conditions and take note of our cancellation policy when booking. No smoking or vaping of any kind on the premises. No burning candles on the property. Rates vary based on demand. Summer/winter rates differ. Check in available by 3pm and check out is 11 am. Early check-in may be available upon request.
