Starry Night, Forest Retreat

Welcome to "Starry Night, Forest Retreat," a serene studio nestled in the Cedar Flat neighborhood of North Lake Tahoe. The space Our guesthouse is located on the upper floor of our detached garage, and features a private entrance for guests. We are just 10 minutes from Tahoe City, 20 minutes from Palisades Tahoe, and 20 minutes from Northstar. There are miles of trails right behind the neighborhood with access to hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. There are also several beaches in the vicinity for access to Lake Tahoe! There is driveway parking for guests that can accommodate one vehicle. The well-equipped kitchenette has a mini-fridge, microwave, large toaster oven, coffee maker, and hot plate. The setup is perfect for small meals or reheating items, but note that there is not a conventional range or full oven. The main living/bedroom space features high ceilings and brings in lots of natural light. There is a cozy queen size bed, sofa, desk, and dining set. Please note that there is not a TV in the unit, but we do have very fast Internet here. There is also a short walk-in closet to hang clothes/store items, and a full bathroom as well. Guest access Guest access is to the studio above the garage only, which is entered from the private entrance to the right of the garage. Note that we do live full-time in the main house on the property, and store a car on the left side of the driveway, or in the garage below. Other things to note Parking: There is a parking spot for one vehicle only in the driveway, all the way on the right hand side so that another car can fit on the left side. Per local ordinances, street parking is not allowed. WINTER: Our neighborhood has a snow removal service that clears the driveway and streets. Snow plows typically come once a day, although the timing may be inconsistent. Guests may need to temporarily move their car to allow the snowplow access to clear the driveway. The street leading to our driveway is moderately steep, and when it snows or freezes it can become slippery. Please be prepared during storms and inclement weather, 4WD, snow tires, and/or chains may be necessary at times during big storms or icy days! NOTE: We do not offer refunds due to winter weather and big snow storms. Under extenuating circumstances (i.e. I-80 is closed for several hours), we may offer a refund on a case-by-case basis. Summer/Fall/Spring: Some years we may see smoke in the region due to wild fires and the prevailing wind direction - we do not offer refunds for these circumstances. Guests should not leave any food or garbage in their cars and always lock their doors due to the possibility of a bear break-in. Bears are harmless towards humans but can be destructive towards personal property when they smell food. Registration Details STR24-9012
